A/N: One day in seventh grade, a friend of mine attempted suicide. I didn't learn about it until I was on the bus home from school. It upset me and I ended up thinking about it the rest of the day. But when I went to go to sleep The words came to me and I just had to write them down. This was my first poem I had ever written. The words were going through my head so fast I barely had time to write it down. Here they are:

As I was lying in the darkness, some thoughts came to my head.
I began to wonder what it would be like if you were ever dead.
How would your mom and dad feel? Would they miss you so?
But, if you were to kill yourself, you would never know.
So many teens kill themselves every day.
Thinking, to get out of their problems, that was the only way.
Well, it's not. There's others. Life's not always fair.
Maybe you should realize this and take advice from people who care.
You're not alone in the world. Every one has their problems.
Just focus on what's happening now and find a way to get past them.
I should know. I've been there before, but my problem was only one.
You have your whole life to live for and you are still very young.
When I heard you tried to kill yourself, I started to cry.
I really needed to talk to you and ask for a reason why.
Others asked you the same thing, but you turned them all away.
Thinking things would be better tomorrow or maybe the next day.
So what was the 'big' problem that you felt the need to die?
Acting like everything's alright, I know that's a lie.
If you ever need to talk to me, I'm aways right here.
And, I'll always give you a tissue if you ever shed a tear.
Maybe you should think things over before trying something like this.
Well, I just hope that you would talk to me. That's my only wish.
I hope you are doing better now, and that everything's alright.
Please remember what I said and sleep well tonight.
