Dancers

We are the magicians this time,
crafters of illusion,
utterly physical
yet leaping across their boundaries
into the arcane.

Held captive by the threads we weave,
they watch us adopt the true form of beauty,
the harmony
of voices and flailing arms
(curved at the elbow),
the intermittent pulsings of life
beaming from within.

We hold them,
utterly absorbed
by the definition of essence and the elements,
and toss it, letting it go -
purity upon our fingertips
(and the magic sparks to life
in their souls).
