Girls aren't really especially great

Painted and pretty
With lip-gloss and curls
Hiding beneath
Purple tank-top and twirls

Today's pretty girl may not be the right one
Even though your testosterone may say she's a star
She may sparkle, but hey,
She's a girl! NOT the sun
And if she doesn't know just how special you are

Then she's not worth banging your head on a wall
Not worth your tears or your fears or your rhyming
There'll be other girls
Who will come when you call

If not today

To hell with regret
