I typed in my screen name and watched the screen load my favorite teen chat. I had been coming here everyday for about a year, and today was when I needed to talk to someone the most. My only friends are online and although this may seem somewhat pathetic, i don't mind it. I scrolled down the name of people chatting and found someone that I had never met before. Everyday, the same people chat but today was totally different.

"Age/Sex/Location?" I typed into the private chat I had just opened up with this newbie. His name alone facsinated me. Abandoned_Soul...such an amazing name.

"14/male/Alaska" He wrote back and I gasped. I lived in Alaska and I, too, was 14. Wow, maybe I can meet him, I thought without any seriousness.

"Me too, except I am female." I typed back, hoping to get a conversation started. He typed back a smiley face. "Where city are you from?" I typed anxiously. I honestly had never once chatted with a person from the same state I was, although they find it ironic that someone online lives in Alaska.

"Campbell, Alaska" He typed, the words seeming to pop out of the screen. I nearly gasped at the words. That was the exact same city I lived in. Although I was dying to spread the news, I kept this to myself until I knew more about this Abandoned_Soul character.

"What kind of things are you into?" I typed, my fingers shaking in excitement. It seemed to take an eternity before he replied.

"Football, girls, skateboards, the typical guy things. I like rock music and I like to hang out with my friends and just chill." The conversation held between us went until about 3 hours until a banging sound was produced on my shut door. I groaned, knowing who it was. Before a sound could escape my mouth, my little sister busted through the door.

"Mommy said I could play!" Angel's voice squeaked as she jumped on my lap. I smiled, trying to enjoy having a sister.

"Alright." I told my new friend my name and my address and welcomed him to come over anytime. He told me his name was Damion and that he'd try to come over around 9pm. That was perfect for me because I'd be babysitting Angel while my parents went out to dinner. I logged off and let Angel play her Neopets game.

"Ok, hunny, we're leaving. Remember: bedtime for Angel is at 8pm." My mom said, before closing the door. I nodded and flashed her my peferect-teeth smile. Braces really pay off, and it's worth getting called "Braceface" for a whole year. I heard the click of the door closing and slammed my body onto the cushioned couch. I sighed loudly, my eyes weighed down by imaginary sleep demons. It was only 6, but it felt like 1am. I never knew it was possible to stretch time so long, beyond it's limits.

"Rae-Rae!" Angel yelled, running into the living room. Her feet pounded against the cold floor, each step creating a bang. I groaned, quietly and subconsciously(sp?).

"Yeah?" I asked, rolling over onto my stomach. In her hands were two of the ugliest barbies I'd seen. Well, their face was picture-perfect but it was the hair that made my mind spin. One of the barbies, the one wearing a pink dress, was almost bald. Only a few strands of her blonde hair covered her head. The other barbie, the nude one, had a mohawk. I laughed.

"Wanna play barbies?" She asked, her voice becoming an innocent tone. I grinned.

"What happened to those?" I asked, gesturing to the 2 dolls. She shrugged.

"They needed a haircut." I nodded, as if understanding this 7-year-old's mind. "So you wanna play with me?" I smiled, but shook my head.

"Sorry, but I have to study. I have this huge exam tomorrow and I can't afford to fail it." So I told a little white lie, no biggie. I waited for her reaction. Whether it be hours of pleading, crying, or the silent-treatement: I was ready to handle it. She nodded.

"Ok, I'll play in my room and let you get lots of study for your ex..ex..exam." She said, and trotted off toward her room. I sighed again, letting my face bounce on the couch. I needed sleep, badly. I forced my weak body up and trudged to my room.

It was only an hour before I could hear voices. No, not voices in my head. They were coming from the next room, Angel's room. I pressed my ear onto the cold wall, desprate to hear who she was talking to. Angel hadn't held conversations with herself or imaginary friends since she was about 4 or 5. The words coming from the next room were unaudible, but that didn't stop me from wanting to know what she was saying. I walked out and crept to the door leading into a room of spilled toys, painted walls, and lots of imagination. I put my ear onto the wooden base, knowing I was bound to hear something.

"And that's why I like monkeys!" Angel's cheerful voice said. I expected to hear her voice once more, only talking in some other character's imaginative being.

"Really? Well I like monkeys, also." A voice said. This was not Angel's voice, not the soft, high voice from a 7-year-old. This voice was deep and low, coming from someone maybe in their 20s or so. I gasped, loudly but not too loud. My heart began to race. I knew Angel couldn't do such good impressions. My mind wandered. I thought about calling 911. I thought about grabbing dad's hidden gun and busting in there. I thought about sacraficing myself to this robber or rapist or killer. Then I heard what a dreaded. Silence. Pure silence. The kind that torments your mind at night. I held my breath and busted in the door.

"Who the fuck are you and what the fuck do you want?!" I screamed, my eyes staring at a person no older then 16. A teenage boy stood across from me, wide-eyed but not frightned. I could see Angel jump on her bed, but I did not take my eyes from this young man. Her hair was gelled up and he wore baggy pants and a baggy shirt that said, "Shut up Brain or I'll stab you with a Q-Tip!" I stared into his green eyes and almost passed out. No doubt, he was the cutest person I had seen in ages. I silently scolded myself for even thinking of his good-looks at a time like this.

"Woah," he held his hand high, as if surrendering. "I'm not here to hurt no one. I'm Damion. Umm..you are RanĂ e, right?" His voice, indeed mature, flooded the room. I nodded, smiling and feeling foolish for my previous actions.

"Damion, hi! I'm so sorry." I said, going over to hug him. I inhaled his sweet colgne as he embraced me. I felt warm all over, and my heart returned to its normal pace.

"It's no problem." He assured me, after the everlasting hug had ceased.

"He's my new friend!" Angel hopped off her bed, and came next to me. "He knocked on my window and asked for you, but I told D that you were studying and I asked him if he wanted to play with me." Her mouth ran about 100 words a minute, it was hard to keep up. I smiled, nodding at her.

"So, Damion, what do you wanna do?" I asked, amazed he had shown up, although 2 hours early.

"Um, we could just talk and get to know each other more." He suggested. I nodded and showed him into my room. He plopped down onto my bed and I locked the door, assuring him that it was so my sister couldn't come in.

"So you are Abandoned Soul?" I asked, knowing the obvious answer. He ran his fingers through his dark brown hair.

"Yeah," he said with a nod. "That's me. And you are Strawberry Baby?" I nodded, wondering what my next words would be.

"Want something to drink or eat? We have cokes and I could order a pizza." I asked, feeling like a total idiot. I was lovestruck, but I didn't want to make it obvious.

"No thanks, I'm alright. So..umm...I never expected you to be so beautiful." He said, smiling at me. My heart melted and I was speechless.

"Oh. Oh, uh, th-thanks. I mean, thanks a lot. I-I didn't expect that to come out." I said, once again the feeling of stupidity returned. He laughed.

"I didn't think you did. Well, I mean it though. I'm not some jerk, trying to get into your pants." He said with a gleaming smile. I returned the smile.

"Thanks, and your the cutest guy I've met. Honestly." I said, feeling somewhat uncomfortable. I didn't feel right expressing my attraction to someone that I hadn't known very well since about 10 minutes ago. He sensed that awkwardness and changed the subject.

"So, is it alright if we watch a movie together or something?" He asked. I nodded.

"Sure, pick a movie!!" +Leave your reviews, nothing much happening yet but this story will begin the action in Ch. 2. Review and tell me how you like it+
