Chapter 1 BeachShe stood there, on the grassy hill, staring down on the city. Lights flashed off and on and car ringed in traffic. She lifted her hand ever so slightly. A small sphere of light floated above her hand. It slowly grew into a large beam, which shot at the city below. The city was destroyed. All that laid was rubble and debris that was once a city. The girl silently stared at her work. Satisfied, she walked back into the dark field of California.
On the beach he waited patiently for his friends to arrive. Kal had ebony hair with blue tips on his long bangs. He guarded that beach for anything unusual. His weapon was his trident. It was a lengthy gold trident with a blue jewel in the middle.
A forest lay behind him. The bushes rustled a little before an oversized wolf walked out of them. Kal’s blue eyes caught sight of a girl about his age. She had short brown hair with forest green eyes. She wore a green half-sized shirt, which sleeves started at the shoulders and ended at the mid arm.
“I assume that Zephon told you the situation?” Kal said. Zair replied by quietly nodding. “I guess this means we’ll be fighting again.” Kal looked troubled.
“You don’t like to fight do you?” Zair asked
“I don’t like the sight of blood,” he muttered. “So what’s been going on? You never talk to me anymore.”
“I haven’t been doing anything important,” Zair chatted.
“Hm,” said Kal in contempt. He looked upwards towards the sky. “Looks like Zephon is late, he’s never on time.” Zair giggled at his statement, Kal could always make her laugh. The ocean wind continued to blow a soft breeze against their faces.
Zair loved the ocean, but her element was wind and earth. Kal had a strong connection to water. He could do anything with water at will which made him a great warrior, but his kind spirit forbid him to fight at full power.
Zair was a year older and more skilled in fighting than him. But his magical power surpasses her. They both trained under Zephon at the same time and became good friends. Once they were both strong enough they split up to protect their own area. They kept intact with each other since then.
Zair’s sharp wolf eyes spotted a far away flying figure. The figure flew closer until they could recognize that it was Zephon, their teacher. Zephon had long golden hair and lavender eyes. He had two silver angel wings, but wasn’t dead. His wind and thunder element gave him his wings. He stared at his pupils intensely. He had contacted them by letter. They received the letter by a carrier dove and that’s how they found out about the attacks on L.A.
“So what’s the plan Zephon?” Kal beamed cheerfully, obviously happy to see his older friend.
There was a moment of silence but then Zephon answered. “We’re going to the source of the problem.”
“But who was the cause of the destruction? You can’t possibly know, “ Zair exclaimed.
“We’re going through an underwater cave, we must stop this before it gets out of hand If we fail, the entire world will die or worse suffer,” Zephon explained. Zair’s wolf friend, Saular, whined in agreement. Saular was always by Zair’s side. He was a loyal companion and a good fighter.
