In between awake and sleep
Reality can mold like clay
To the shape I choose to make it
Unopposed in disarray

In between the dusk and dawn
The world is mine to shape and change
I choose the colors to my liking
Take a look, then rearrange

In between the dark and light
The skies are made of spinning dreams
The stars are tears I've fixed above
With spiders' thread I've hemmed the seems

In between the truth and lies
The Bats are not afraid of dawn
The Wolf-pack runs unbarred and free
With not but pride to drive them on

In between my thoughts and dreams
A burning Phoenix can't melt snow
The Sun and Moon in chorus laugh
At all the madness down below

In between belief and seeing
Butterflies may NOT abide
Rainbows bleed like hearts in love
And Moths among the foliage hide

In between unconscious thinking
Beauty courts Insanity
The winds sing sonnets to the trees
And laugh upon Humanity

In between the strain of breathing
What's let of my soul is free
Immortal strength eclipses pain
My Dragon watches over me

I curse the Sun for waking up
To take her fill and drain my cup
For all this I can only keep
In between awake and sleep
