But the pain never came and instead, I heard a struggle. I opened me eyes and saw Seth on his father's back, pounding his head with his own fists. His father was swinging around, the axe now laying beside his feet.
"Get the hell off of me before I kill you too!" Seth's father screamed. Seth still fought hard.
"Get out and get help!" Seth demanded to me and without thinking, I bursted out of the house and into the cool night air. I went to his neighbor's house, my heart pounding with fear. I rang the door about 10 times and pounded on the door.
"Help!" I screamed, hoping someone would open. And the door did open for me. A middle-ages woman wearing a robe and slippers stood in the doorway. "I need your phone to call 911, please!" I shouted. She just looked at me. Forgeting my manners, I busted into her house and found the phone without even looking. I dialed 911.
"911 Emergency, how can I help you?" A male's voice was on the other end.
"Get to 106 Carothers Street now! A woman is injured badly and barely alive by her husband and her son is about to be hurt also. Hurry!!" I screamed into the phone.
"Ma'am, calm down. We have police going to that location." The calmness of his voice got me more frustrated.
"Calm down?" I shouted with fury. "Don't you tell me to calm down!! My best friend's life is in danger."
"Ma'am, I understand that completely. Do you know this man?" Even now, his voice had no sign of nervousness at all.
"I gotta go, please hurry!" I yelled. "Don't ha-" click. I hung up, thanked the lady quickly and ran back to Seth's house. To my suprise, they were still fighting when i entered the bedroom. Seth's face was smeared with blood and so was his dad's. I feared the worse. When I came into the room, Seth was on the floor, kicking his father as he leaned over him. I jumped on his dad's back, kicking.
"Seth, leave!" I demanded, knowing he wouldn't leave. He shook his head.
"No, I'm going to stand up to him." Seth said as his dad literally threw me off of his back and slamming into the wall. Pain shot up through my body and I couldnt move - the pain was too great. I slumped over on the floor and curled into a fetal position. All I could do was watch in pain as Seth fought his greatest fear, risking his own life.
"Ugh." Seth's father moaned and fell over after Seth slammed a lamp on the top of his head. He wasn't uncounscious though and Seth sent his fists pounding into the jaw of his dad. Then the voice I had been waiting for came to me.
"This is the police! We're coming in!" The sound of the door being busted in provided some kind of relief. Then, the men in blue, came into the room and pried Seth of his dad. An ambulance was there also and put Seth in a stretcher. Then came and put me in one also but I was too much in pain to talk. All I could to was moan and groan and cry in agony.
A few weeks later, everything was alright, Seth's mom recovered fully and same with Seth. His father was put in jail for 30 years and wound't come out until he's 70. I just had a broken bone (my first) and some cuts. Seth and I were closed then ever after this and my father became a better man after his probation sentence. It was all I could ever hope for - a fairy tale ending. THE END
