Sisters

You have stood by my side these long years,
And shared with me, and I with you.

You have consoled me in sorrow,
I have held you while you cried.
You have stood by me in my trials,
And accepted my aid in your own.

You have taken up arms against my fears,
And I have stood guard against yours.
We have shared our laughter and our songs,
And in sharing, made our joys greater by far.

You have kept me from loneliness,
As I have done for you.
You have been only a moment away,
As have I, should there be any need at all.

Not just my friend, it is a toopale word,
For you are my sister, by my choice, forever.

- Lady Cinnibar

To Em & Deb, the sisters of my heart, no matter what comes between, you are, and will be, my sisters forever.
