Winter

The scent of,

Burning wood,

Fills the chilly air.

Fires crackle,

As children drink,

Their sweet hot chocolate.

Icicles glisten outside,

In the bright sunlight,

While snowflakes tiptoe and dance.

Families of snowmen,

Smile at strangers.

The crunching,

Of boots on fresh snow,

Breaks the cold silence.

The wind hushes,

The animals to sleep.

At last!

It has arrived.

Winter is finally here.
