Blue fire that did not burn flickered in the sconces of the
meditation room. Barak, Lamya, and Okalani knelt before the small
unassuming statue of their beloved goddess on its sacred shelf, muttering
prayers to her asking for advice and wisdom. The three knelt in a line,
incense burning before them, flowers of offering surrounding them.
Suddenly, the flames flared and the three looked up in confusion.
The flames grew bigger and began to change color from the normal deep
blue to a rosy shade of purple. Lamya seized Barak’s arm in panic.
