Today the trees have shed their leaves
or rather,
had their leaves shed from them.
By howling, biting, bitter wind
which scraped bare each small brittle stem.
Its majestic fury, crimson, gold,
cast down with little grace,
the wind in its uncaring haste
has left forlorn this lonely place.
Poetess’ Notes:
Well, there you have it. It’s not that great, but it’s been bothering me for a while and I’ve just gotten it down on paper. I just thought the trees look kind of sad at the end of autumn when all their leaves gone. Anyways, thanks for reading! Please leave a review. Anything would be appreciated.
