My first attempt at a love poem. Not for/about anyone in particular. Hopefully non-sappy.

"Still Water"

I swear somehow I've met you
Somewhere near I've known you
Shallow pools of memory
Depth inside your eyes

Ripples through that skin you wear
The way in which you speak
Sparks familiarity
Mirrored there beneath

Questions lost from mind to mouth
The steady need to breathe
Burning warmth surrounding skin
Running all through me

I know somehow I love you
Nothing but trust for you
Feelings sweeping over me
Drowning me inside
