Hello. I wrote this while I was listening to Youth of the Nation by P.O.D. Some of these things are kinda happening to me. Hope you like it. Please review!

Lindsay was in 8th grade. She changed a lot since last year. Being 13 was tough for Lindsay, but it was about to get a lot tougher. Since her ‘change’ she really didn’t see most of her friends. They talked sometimes, but only at lunch. A few months later Lindsay didn’t see any of them, unless they were in one of her classes. She usually spent her afternoons by herself. Her mother would always tell her to call Jackie or Laura, but she never did. Lindsay was sitting in her room when the phone rang. The caller ID said it was Jackie.

‘Maybe she wants to hang out.’

Lindsay picked up the phone.

“Hello?”

“Hey Lindsay it’s Jackie.”

“Hey Jack. What’s up?”

“Nothing really. I just wanted to know if you could help me with some Italian homework.”

‘She calls to ask me to help her with homework?’

“Uh sorry but I have to go out.”

“Oh ok. Thanks anyway.”

“Bye.”

“Bye.”

Lindsay sighed and sat on her bed.

“Some friend she is.”

Lindsay was in gym and they had to pick partners for basketball drills. Almost everyone was paired up.

‘Guess no one wants to be my partner.’

Laura walked over to Lindsay.

“Hey do you want to be my partner?”

“Sure!”

‘At least I still have one friend.’

It was April and that meant Laura’s birthday was coming up, which meant party. Party for everyone except Lindsay. It was the day after Laura’s birthday. Lindsay didn’t get an invitation and was wondering if she was even having a party. Lindsay sat at her usual lunch table and was listening to the conversations. Jackie mentioned something about feeling kind of sick and Laura narrowed her eyes at her and Jackie said not that sick. Later that day in science class, Kristen asked someone if they we’re going to car-pool. Lindsay looked at them funny and Jackie told them to be quiet. Then during 10th period Lindsay heard someone ask what they got Laura.

‘I can’t believe this! Laura didn’t invite me? But we were best friends last year.’

Lindsay was so mad. She was walking down the hallway and bumped into her friend Kelly.

“Hi Kelly.”

“Hey Lindsay. Are you going to Laura’s party?”

“No, I wasn’t invited.”

“What! You guys were like best friends last year.”

“I know. Listen if they talk about me, will you tell me?”

“Sure.”

“Thanks.”

Lindsay walked home. She was angry and upset. She kept thinking about it all the way home. Lindsay opened the door and walked inside.

“This is so unfair! What the fuck did I do to her?”

Lindsay felt tears forming and tried to hold them back. The tears flowed down her cheek. She ran upstairs and cried on her bed.

“Did she forget everything we did last year? All the memories we shared? We had so many inside jokes. I went on vacation with her. Did she just forget all that?”

Lindsay heard the door open.

“Lindsay sweetie, are you home?”

Lindsay wiped her tears and walked over to the stairs.

“Hi mom.”

“What’s wrong you sound so sad?”

“Nothing.”

“You sure?”

“Uh huh. Everything’s fine.”

The weekend was over. Lindsay was in homeroom and Kelly walked in. Lindsay looked at her, but Kelly just ignored her.

‘What the fuck.’

The bell rang and Lindsay went to go talk to her, but she just walked away. Lindsay went to 1st period and no one talked to her.

‘What the hell is going on?’

It was time for lunch and Lindsay went over to the usual table. Laura put her purse down.

“Sorry this seat’s taken.”

Lindsay looked around and saw no seats left. She walked over to another table and ate by herself. Lindsay went through the whole day without anyone talking to her. She walked home and went to her room. She squeezed her eyes tight and started crying.

“Why is this happening?”

Lindsay went into the kitchen and took a knife. She put it to her wrist, but dropped then knife and fell to her knees. She was shaking and crying.

“Why can’t I just fucking die!”

She went into the bathroom and took a razor. She brought it to her wrist. Her stomach twisted in knots, but she ignored it and cut across. Lindsay watched the blood drip onto the tiles.

“This kinda makes me feel better.”

She wiped her tears and put the razor away. Lindsay heard a car pull into the driveway.

“Oh shit!”

Lindsay quickly cleaned the blood. She ran into the kitchen and put the knife back. Her mother opened the door.

“Hello Lindsay.”

Lindsay walked over to her mother and hid her wrist.

“Hey mom.”

Her mother looked closely at Lindsay.

“You look like you were crying. Is everything ok?”

“Yeah, I just had something in my eye.”

“Ok.”

Lindsay really didn’t like lying to her mother, but she wasn’t going to tell her the truth.

It was the next day and Lindsay was early so she was standing in the hallway waiting to go to homeroom.

Some guys walked up to Lindsay and started saying mean things.

“Hey ugly.”

“Shut up!”

She tried to push them away. One of the guys saw marks on her wrist and grabbed it.

“Hmm…trying to kill yourself?”

“Leave me alone!”

“Do us a favor and cut a little deeper next time.”

Lindsay held back her tears. The guys bumped into her, causing her to drop her books. She went to go pick them up, but somebody beat her to it. Lindsay looked down and saw it was the guy she had a crush on.

“Here you go.”

“Thanks so much.”

He smiled at her.

“Lindsay would you like to go out with me?”

She couldn’t believe what she was hearing. Lindsay looked him in the eyes.

“Of course!”

“Oh well that’s too bad because I don’t want to go out with you!”

Everyone around started to laugh. Lindsay’s world began to spin. She just stared as Laura walked up to him laughing. He turned around and kissed her. They walked away. Lindsay swallowed a big lump that was in her throat. All day kids made fun of her. The final bell rang and Lindsay ran out of the school. Lindsay ran home and cried. She was so mad. She went in her room and broke pictures of her and her friends. Lindsay was so angry that she wasn’t even thinking straight. All she wanted to do was kill everyone. She hated everyone. She didn’t care how, but they needed to die.

‘How am I going to kill them?’

Then Lindsay remembered her dad brought a gun before he died. She ran into her mom’s room and threw open the closet door. She searched until she found a case. Lindsay tried to open it, but it had a lock on it.

“What would the combination be?”

She tried her dad’s birthday, then her mom’s, then hers. None of them worked.

‘What about their anniversary?’

She put in 7-5-86. The lock popped open.

“Bingo!”

She opened the case and smiled when she saw the gun.

“Perfect!”

The phone rang. Lindsay picked it up.

“Hello?”

“Hi sweetheart. I’m going to have to say at work over night ok?”

“Yeah mom that’s fine.”

“Ok. See you tomorrow when you get home from school.”

“Bye.”

“Bye.”

Lindsay hung up the phone.

“This just keeps getting better.”

The next morning Lindsay woke up and went over to the gun. She loaded it and stuck it in her backpack. She got ready and walked to school.

‘Stupid bastards will pay for everything they did.’

Lindsay walked in and heard the teachers talking about an assembly 1st period.

‘Wow this is going to work out great.’

All during homeroom Lindsay planned everything she was going to do. Finally the bell rang and she walked to her 1st period class.

“Ok class we have an assembly, so get your things and walk to the gym.”

Everyone was in the gym and the principal was trying to quiet everyone down. Lindsay reached into her backpack and took out the gun. The kid sitting next to her saw and screamed.

“She had a gun!”

Everyone turned their heads and looked at Lindsay.

Some people went for the door. Lindsay stood up and fired a shot to the ceiling. Everyone ducked.

“Sit the fuck down and I won’t shoot!”

Everyone did as they were told.

“If anyone goes near the door, I won’t even hesitate to blow their fucking brains out!”

Lindsay walked to the middle of the gym. Some girls started crying.

“Why are you doing this!”

Lindsay smiled and pointed the gun at the girl. The girl cringed in her seat.

“That’s a very good question. I’d like Tom Smith and Laura Tremor to come up here.”

Tom and Laura both got up and walked over to Lindsay.

“This is why I’m doing this. It’s their fault. If you get shot, their to blame.”

Lindsay pointed the gun at Tom. He swallowed hard.

“Tom do you remember what you did to me yesterday?”

Tom nodded his head.

“Do you know how much you hurt me?”

Tom shook his head.

“Let me show you how much you hurt me!”

Lindsay pulled the trigger and Tom’s body fell to the floor. Everyone screamed. Laura started to cry.

Lindsay pointed the gun at Laura.

“Do you know what you did to me?”

“Yes.”

“Do you know where you hurt me?”

“No. Lindsay I’m really sorry!”

“No you’re not sorry! You just don’t want to die!”

Lindsay looked Laura in the eyes.

“You torn my heart to pieces! Fuck! We were best friends! I did nothing to you except do things a friend would do! What do I get in return? You turn everyone against me! You spread rumors! You ripped my heart apart! Do you know how much pain I felt?”

Laura shook her head.

“Well let me show you!”

Lindsay pulled the trigger and shot Laura right in the heart. More kids started crying.

“And you! You all laughed at me! You laughed at my pain!”

Lindsay pointed the gun and shot some kids. Everyone jumped out of their seats. Lindsay stared crying and dropped to her knees. Everyone ran out of the gym and a teacher called the cops.

“What did I do! Why the fuck did I do this?”

She looked at Tom and Laura. She looked to the kids and teachers she killed. She looked down at the gun in her hands.

“It’s all my fault.”

She heard the sirens. Lindsay picked up the gun, put it to her head and pulled the trigger.

Ok that was it. Did you like it? Please review and tell me what you thought. Thanks so much!
