Don’t Look Back (There’s Nothing There)

Don’t look back

There’s nothing there.

Only fire,

And despair.

Burning buildings,

Choking dust

Keep on ahead

Doing what you must

Terror strikes into our hearts

Consuming the light, replaced with dark

Pain and fear circle about

Turning confidence into doubt

Don’t look back, you can’t change

What has happened,

In this act of horrid rage.

Things once there are now gone.

The enemy thinks they have won.

So, prove them wrong. You must go on,

In your daily life.

But never, ever, forget

This time of discord, pain, and strife.

Terrorists aim

To break our stride,

To wear away

Our hope and pride.

Always remember, don’t let them win,

Get what they want.

Remember to be what we always have been.

Americans.

Hopeful, helpful, supportive to the end

Waiting what stands beyond the bend.

Keep in mind, nothing will tear us apart

If we believe with all our heart.

We, America, will prevail.

We cannot, and will not fail

To continue our line

Don’t look back, it’s already happened.

An act of complete, and total Sin.

Don’t look back

Don’t look back

Don’t look back
