~Sweet Grace and the Sunrise Gods~

You feel to yourself

As you sing to yourself

You’re afraid of something

Inside you

Black and snarling

You think it will break

And they’ll all see

But you,

Tree-spirit, earth-child

You lie to yourself;

There is no ugliness inside you

There is no hate in your heart

There’s no maliciousness in your intent

No swagger in your step

No demons in your past

No evil in your future

No evil

Though you see its shadow

Jealousy

Anger

These are not sins

Just the things

That tie you to yourself

So open your mouth

And scream it all out

Black satin ribbons have no place with you

Dull side up

They’ll fly away

Leaving only the shine

And sheen

Of your precious heart

Leaving earth-goddess Grace

Her face upturned to the sun

Flittering madness

Away on the wind

She commands the dawn.

… and there will be dawn.
