Those of you who don’t know me and aren’t on stage with me probably don’t know what I’m talking about, but if you know Midsummer Night’s Dream, and have performed it, then you may be able to get an idea. Not meant to be a serious work at all, but more comedic in an ‘inside joke’ kind of way…

A word from Hippolyta

‘Tis strange what these lovers speak of

For if it not be the silliest stuff I ever heard,

Deny of my passion.

‘Tis funny what some queens dream of

I’m not one to judge,

Though loving asses

Betrays intelligence…- and fashion.

‘Tis funny what some dukes think of

Knowing fully of their incapability

How easily entertained and fooled

Obsessed with bringing their bed prosperity,

Trapped by their own gullibility.

‘Tis funny how complicated the life you see

Bat of an eye, end of a war,

What fools these mortals be.

‘Tis funny what some men speak of

To make their lady feel special

Make them feel they can fly

All this based on one thing only:

The opportunity to…ply.
