Petals of Obscurity

I watch you walk away

Tears streaming down your face,

The perfect end to the mourning day

Where the sun still sleeps with grace.

You say that now I have my freedom

Though I don’t recall being chained,

Now released from your kingdom

I feel empty, scarred and maimed.

It’s been so long since we’ve been ourselves

Or been any other,

For once letting the fates sort themselves

Days and nights blurring together.

Time has passed to slowly for too long

And dreams show what I’ve learned,

Returning now to where I belong

Carrying with me for eternity

The silk petals you sadly burned.
