A soul thing
Why can’t you perceive just what it means
To put your wants below your needs?
If you could foretell, just how well
You would be, with only needs
Sole wants will pull you down
Over and again, and again
She only wants, that which she likes
Eternally, she pays the price
She solely partakes of what looks nice
That which she needs isn’t so pleasing
To the eye
Of the treasures on the earth
Worldly things, no moral worth
She counts them up but they can’t be stored
In the place where she will be
After it all ends
If only you ask you will receive
Not your sole wants, but your soul’s needs’
Why feed the flesh, but not your soul
When it’s the latter that never folds
That which you feed is the sole thing
That rules your life
