True Wish

Prologue

Rain pounded on the now soft and dampened earth as the sky, with it darkness and foul winds started to pick up. Through the chaotic lights ad sounds of the horrible weather, a figure hidden beneath a cloak ran past the high clock tower of a building that showed the time of a few minutes left till midnight. As if sensing midnight was to come upon her slowly, she ran faster.

As she ran, behind her, if you would look closely, shadowlike figures were chasing after her. The dangerous red eyes stared hungrily at its prey. Meanwhile, as the figure ran, her cloak fluttered and beneath it, there was a small hint of a bundle of white. The figure closed and held the bundle tightly as she noticed the hint of her precious bundle being peeked at by the shadows that were chasing her.

As she kept on running, she saw light up ahead and saw the soft glow of the temple in front of her. Desperately, she ran faster, seeking the warmth and comfort of the light that was shining through the windows through the darkness outside of the sacred place. Reaching the door, she quickly opened it and went inside closing and locking the door tight behind her.

Gasping for breath, the figure walked slowly toward the sanctuary, where warm candlelights shone. At the altar, she put her bundle of white out and gently laid it on the wood.

The white bundle squirmed and soon the innocent baby white face popped out. The child’s green blue eyes shone with curiosity as it wandered throughout the church. The figure took off her hood to reveal similar but brighter green eyes and her long elegant silver hair. Glancing around the place, she finally let out a sigh along with a smile. Taking off a silver red pendant around her pale milky skin, she placed it on the infant’s neck.

Then she traced the child’s face. She stared on looking at her beloved child’s face as if to memorize every detail. A sudden sound of banging alerted her of her limited time, and she quickly began her procedure.

Placing her hand on the child’s soft orange blonde hair, she began to chant. The silver headed figure began to concentrate. This was the only way. A soft white glow came from the child as beads of sweat started to form on the woman’s brow. Just as the entrance to the sanctuary burst open, the child had disappeared in the white light and the woman stood her ground, pride fueling her and motivating her not to cry.

As soon as the dark figures emerged from the black shadows, the woman wasted no time and took out her dagger that was hidden inside her cloak.

The dagger was a very impressive dagger with the invisible power flowing through it. A figure stood out from the rest of the dark figures and laughed.

“ Shiai. Honestly, you think you could kill us with that dagger? Surely you can do better. Why not use your powers instead? Oh… I forgot. You’re drained right now…from using needless amount of energy transporting that child…â€
