A solitary ant
Climbing a great oak.
She cannot know that the tree is a million times her size
She cannot know that scaling such a tree should be impossible
So she climbs
And scales that tree
Never knowing of the miracle she has completed.
And perhaps if we were in ignorance
We might get more done
But there would be no glory
No joy in knowing the purpose of such a trek
No pride in our accomplishments
And so, we must ask ourselves:
Is success the outcome, or the experience of the journey?
