Soporific devotion
So blind from kissing feet
You can’t even see their disgust
How like a pole in winter
Birds perch and fly away from acidity
Opalescent WebSo hard to tell –
Tangled lies threaded through my wounded body
Sew me up tight and blanket me with earth
An asphalt afghan warmed by the sun
A bed of tar
A cocoon of wood
Buried slow & cool
I sleep
Peacefully and pure
I weep
The willow’s roots are thrumming deep
Insomnia-my soul shall keep
Until I wake again.
Peace.
