A LESSON LEARNED

I learned the hard way
Never to listen to anything you say
Nothing you said was ever true
Never again shall I have faith in you
You broke my heart
You left it in pieces
Since we've been apart
My world ceases
To move; to spin
I ache within
I guess you never loved me
I guess I was too blind to see
All I saw was my love for you
I thought you felt the same
You never said the words "I love you"
I waited but they never came
I gave you my devotion
And in return I got no emotion
I was naive to your schemes
You took advantage of my dreams
Even though my heart is broken
For teaching me this lesson I give thanks
At this moment I might feel forsaken
But I shall never again fall for these pranks
