Author's Notes: Now if anyone wishes to use this poem for any purposes without my permission? Go right ahead! But at least credit it to me cuz I'm the author. And if ya do use it in your yearbook, poetry reading or somethin', ya can lemme know if ya want. Ya don't have to but I'd appreciate it! Anyway, this is a poem that I wrote in my last year in high school. I gave it to the editor but something must've happen cuz it was never got published in the yearbook, which upset me. At least my maze was in so everything wasn't a total lost. So now you can see why I would kinda like someone to use it in their yearbook or somethin'. And if ya do, please lemme know so I can be excited that lots of people are reading it. Anyway, I will now stop rambling on and on so you can read the poem, song, whatever ya want to call it. Enjoy!

The End of the Year

By Melanie Ouimet

This is the end of the year
And we had such wonderful times
Now some people will move on
Leaving others behind

Many friends of yours
May always change
So don't expect any of them
To ever stay the same

And so we must never forget
The past that we shared
And always look forward
To our new future

The ones who graduate
Will be the ones who leave
Either for a job
Or some sort of degree

But not everyone
Has a plan yet
Some may work right away
While others will wait

But whatever you choose
You're wished the best of luck
From all your family and friends
And everyone else

Hopefully this year was fun
And may your future be grand
This was one great year
Which now comes to an end

You'll have new opportunities
Open up for you
They'll be great experiences
Exciting and new

So have fun in your life
There's no need to worry
Life is full of surprises
So just take it easy

And when school's out
It won't be a bummer
Cause everyone will
Have a fun-filled summer!
