Light and Dark

I can see the light,
and it is even farther away than before,
but it is something I don't want anymore.
I will stay in the dark shadows of evil,
and I will survive off the darkness in others' souls.
I will die before I will return to the light,
which now stings my eyes,
but it seems to offer itself.
And I'm still too far away to attain it.
