In every past, there are small shadows

Things you wish to forget

Even if those memories are lost

They remain dormant inside the mind

Just waiting for your past to catch up with you

Those who don’t remember want to know and

Those who remember want to forget

You can’t win either way, it’s a

Lose lose situation

The past will haunt you

Always following behind you

Never stopping, never leaving

It’s a vicious cycle

Constantly worrying, loosing sanity

About events to come that your past created

But like a monster, it stalks close behind your feet
Ready to pounce
And once it reaches you, you scream for help
Only to find yourself alone
Like a flash of light, your thoughts return
And you finally begin
To understand what it means

Things you want to leave, things you

Want to forget

Death, hate, pain

I guess sometimes the past is best forgotten
