Dance of the Wasted Senior

By: Adelaide

Drunk old ladies

At a party, Saturday night

Can only mean one thing;

And it doesn't look right.

She walked onto the dance floor

With a glossy-eyed appearance

Her mouth flapped wide open

As if her fave store had a clearance.

And much to anyone's surprise,

She began to dance

Really, really strangely

Like she was in a trance.

Then when she was twistin'

Right down to the floor,

Her skirt went up,

And we all thought "NEVERMORE!"

But she kept dancing

And drinking her schnapps

And we all sat there

Hoping she would stop.

***True story: I was at a party for my neighbor's mom, and this older woman's skirt went up while dancing. It wasn't a pretty sight, trust me. This poem is dedicated to Nicole and Jodie for having to see this unpleasantness.
