The cold wind blew in the dark air. In the murky woods stood a small house with a crimson door. Inside was a woman sitting on a creaky rocking chair. She was looking in the blaze of fire in front oh her eyes. She lifted her hand and brushed her hair back. She was no ordinary woman. She had a special task. Her task was to stop all of the demonic wolves. Her reason was to avenge the death of her sister, Julia.
"Julia." She whispered. She closed her eyes as a tear dripped down her cheek. She looked up and grabbed her axe. She had to do what was best. As she was walking to the axe, the fireplace was blown out, and the door creaked. She knew it was the wolves. She ran for the axe, but she was gnawed in her leg and thrown down to the floor. She kicked the wolf in the head, leaped for the axe, hauled it up, and struck the wolf in the gut. She lifted it up again and struck the wolf in the head this time. She picked herself up and walked outside. She knew it was time to go and kill some more wolves.
It was quiet. The woman searched in the dark woods. The only thing in the woods that she spotted was a few rabbits and bats. The sound of grass blades being crumpled awoke her from her blankness as she saw up the hill, thousands of wolves. She decided to run and hid in a corner. She figured with a passing wolf, she could just slaughter as the marched by. She grabbed her axe as she heard the footsteps of the wolves' paws marching on the grass floor. As the first walked by, she swung and hit in right in the eye. She just kept on doing this one by one to all of the children of the devil. They all died one by one until one lone warrior stood. She ran into the house and grabbed her father's hunting gun. It was dusty and hasn't been used in over 30 years.
"One bullet," she said as she looked at the gun barrel, "one bullet left, one bullet to last." She ran outside and saw the wolf mourning against it's lost commarade.
"Why," it yelled weeping. She was shocked to hear the wolf. It really was demonic.
"Because of Julia."
"Julia? Who is that?"
"Don't give me that shit. It was because of you Julia is dead. She was playing outside on the swings. She was having fun and out came you! Out came the wolves! It was because of you Julia is dead!" With that she lifted the gun and fired at the wolf. She fell on her knees and wept. After all of the wolves finally killed, she still wasn't happy. Julia's death was a huge blow, but this did not resolve it.
The wind blew and a beautiful song was heard. The woman looked up and saw an apparition of…
"Julia! I am so happy!"
"Hush now sister. You have forgotten that no matter what I'm always with you. You didn't need to kill the wolves for me. I'm always right her beside you. Goodbye sister."
"Julia! Don't leave me!" With that, the apparition disappeared. The dark turned into light and the wolves. The wolves were no longer wolves. The wolves were human. She shrieked and two officers came and took her away. She couldn't believe what had happened.
"Why God," she yelled in the sky, "Why is this happening to me?!"
The woman was later put in a mental asylum and considered sane. Her sister Julia did die, not by wolves, but a mistake by a hunter. People believe when Julia died, she snapped because she had no one else to turn to. The wolf that she killed that sneaked in her house was a young boy, and the other wolves who she slaughtered was the family looking for their young boy who ran off. The question is, was it really like this, or did the wolves really come out?
