Prologue

End Yet Beginning

Outside the clear transparant window of the bakery shop, people of all kinds passed by. Dark piercing blue eyes darted from one passerby to another, trying to identify the face of one he was looking for.

Not a moment later, the bell to the shop rang as the door opened and a girl in her age of seventeen came in with a cheerful smile on her face. The eyes of the boy who had been searching through the crowds, locked on the girl with a warm glint. ¡° What took you so long?¡±

The girl sat herself in a seat opposite of the guy¡¯s and smiled at him. ¡° Sorry. I hope you didn¡¯t have to wait that long, Kyle-san¡± ¡° Kyle.¡± The guy, Kyle, corrected her. With another apologetic look, she repeated. ¡° Kyle.¡±

Satisfied, Kyle tried to lean comfortable on the hard wooden chair but failed horribly. Seeing his face, the girl giggled. Kyle retorted. ¡° Hey! It¡¯s not nice for people to laugh at one another, Li.¡± This stopped the girl. Then looking sternly at Kyle, she emphasized every syllable in her name. ¡° Liari. It¡¯s Liari, Kyle!¡±

After a moment of silence passed by the atmosphere was lightened up again with laughing. The girl stood up. ¡° Well, what are we waiting for? Let¡¯s go get something to eat!¡± The young couple got up and went over to a counter when numerous variations of bread layed before them. Kyle took his choices of bread unto his tray and after taking his choice of drink, waited for Liari to catch up. They both headed back to the table.

¡° So why¡¯d you pick the bakery shop out of the blue?¡± Kyle asked Liari as he munched on his bread. There were countless places to have their date and Liari picking this place so suddenly was so unusual that Kyle just had to ask. Liari looked up from her tray with her sparkling auburn eyes. ¡° Well, I guess after seeing so many other couples using this location for their dates, I always wanted to try this. And also, it isn¡¯t everyday you can just walk out of the house and go to the bakery to eat~!!¡±

Kyle had to laugh at the last statement. He supposed it was true. After all, they were both from very famous families and were restricted to be outside without any attendants. However, just this once, the two families thought, since Kyle and Liari were engaged, they should have some times alone. They were pretty sure the couple wouldn¡¯t stick too much out of the crowds if they both concealed most of their faces, which is exactly what they did. And since it was winter, the overclothing wouldn¡¯t look so out of place either.

Kyle watched Liari eat and noticed that her tray was filled with only one kind of bread: cream puffs. ¡° What¡¯s with all those cream puffs?¡± Liari looked toward Kyle again. Then smiling as she took a bite of a cream puff, she replied. ¡° Cream puffs are my most favorite food!¡± Kyle chuckled. ¡° What a weird personality!!¡± ¡° Hey! Stop insulting me and just finish your own food!¡±

It was soon afternoon after the couple finished their brunch. The two, bundled up were walking down the busy streets of the city. Auburn eyes perked up as it spotted a white speck drifting slowly down the air in front of her. Reaching out her glove covered hand, she reached for the first piece of snow. ¡° It¡¯s snowing.¡± Slowly, people all around them stopped and reached out their hands trying to feel the pieces of snowflakes that now was drifting everywhere. Unto Liari¡¯s outstretched hand, Kyle enclosed the one piece of snow with his own hand as he grabbed Liari¡¯s small hand tightly. A blissful smile brightened Kyle¡¯s features. Liari smiled in return.

Suddenly, and unexpectedly, a strong wind of gust blew and Liari¡¯s hat blew off her head. She cried out in surprise. Her staight soft red orange hair that had been once secured inside her hat now flew all around her tugged by the wind. Suddenly, one person identified her. ¡° Hey! It¡¯s Liari Sakamoto, daughter of the two famous oscar actor and actress, Sakuya and Maiko Sakamoto!¡± Another one after taking another second careful look, exclaimed. ¡° And next to her is Kyle, Mamoru and Iris Eulise¡¯s son!¡± Almost everybody¡¯s head turned toward the couple at the last statement. Both of the couple¡¯s eyes widened in total shock.

Just before a crowd had gathered toward them, they both ran. They both knew too well how much trouble any kind of information could cost; even the smallest one. With Liari¡¯s hand in Kyle¡¯s, they both ran like crazy, turning and twisting at every turn to lose their chasers.

They didn¡¯t have to run very far when the two arrived upon a park. They quickly ran through the trees and finding a bench sat themselves down. Before each could even get a breath, Kyle put his hat on Liari¡¯s bright attracting hair and without hesitation, kissed her.

They kissed, delving in each others warmth in the cold frigid winter air. They didn¡¯t notice as a crowd of people rushed passed by them not giving the couple even a glance. As soon as the last person of the crowd disappeared, the kiss ended, and a blush tainted Liari¡¯s cheeks.

Kyle just smirked. ¡° I guess we should call this a day. It¡¯s getting late and soon there won¡¯t be anymore light.¡± Liari just nodded. ¡° I¡¯ll call Lexi then.¡± Taking out a cellphone from his pocket, Kyle dialed Liari¡¯s driver¡¯s number. ¡° Lexi? It¡¯s me, Kyle. Liari needs her ride back home.. Oh.. All right then. See ya in five minutes then.¡±

Putting back the cellphone back into his pocket, Kyle put his left arm around Liari¡¯s shoulder. Questioning auburn turned toward him. ¡° What did he say?¡± Kyle just kept on looking forward to the great view of the lake. ¡° He said we¡¯ll meet us in five minute at the entrance to the park. ¡° Oh¡¦ so shouldn¡¯t we start walking¡¦¡± Lying his head on her shoulder, he whispered. ¡° Just for a minute¡¦¡± There the two sat side by side enjoying the peaceful silence and the falling white snow.

Trees were lined up, adorning the sides of the somewhat nature and hand-made road. Kyle and Liari walked slowly side by side, crunching the thin layer of snow that had fallen down now. It was almost so dark that not many peope were around the park now. Liari almost slipped but Kyle caught her hand just in time. They continued their quiet walk toward the entrance. Soon enough, the entrance of the park showed. By the entrance was Liari¡¯s ride home.

Before Liari could even open the car¡¯s door, Kyle caught her hand. With his own hand, he began to dust the snow off her hair and coat. Then he bended down and with his hankerchief, he began to clean Liari¡¯s high heeled shoes. ¡° There were something on your shoe. ¡° Kyle replied when he saw Liari¡¯s questioning glance. Then he opened the car¡¯s door and mockingly imitated a gentleman by placing his left arm in front of him and his right in back of him and bowed. Liari giggled.

Taking his left hand, she stepped lightly unto the car. Kyle closed the door and the window to Liari¡¯s side opened. Putting her bare fingers lightly to her lip, she waved good-bye to Kyle. Kyle just gazed as her smiling face was swallowed up by the darkness. As he waited for his own ride, little did he know that this was going to be the last time he would ever see Liari¡¯s farewells in a very long time.

¡° So how was your date?¡± A boy in his age of seventeen with curly dark brown hair grinned. However, his gloating was cut off by a pillow driven in his face. ¡° You know, Rejin, you talk too much.¡± Kyle was in his bedroom with one of his best friends, Rejin Sabosaki. Rejin just continued to gloat. ¡° Oh so you mean it was hotter than you expected..¡± He was cut off as another pillow found its way to his face.

Street lights passed by from the window. Liari gazed out of her shaded window as everything outside blurred past it. Her red orange hair was now damp from the snow. Her daze was suddenly broken off as the car jerked to the right and then to the left and then to a sudden stop. The slippery snow did little to slow the friction. Liari felt everything tilt to a slope.

¡° Miss Sakamoto! Get out of the ca¡¦¡± The driver¡¯s voice was cut off by a sudden freefall. Liari could feel the pressure getting to her and in an instant her vision died and gone all blank.

Up on the road was another black car. The inhabitants of the car looked out over the ridge where a moment ago, a car had gone over. Not long after, a big ball of fire erupted from beneath the ridge. The inhabitants of the car, satisfied with their work began to drive on before any police could come to investigate the area. Just as they disappeared from view, the sound of sirens began to get louder and louder

The day looked dreary with thick heavy dark clouds. A group of people, each one of them dressed fully in the mourning black color, were gathered around a casket. Inside the casket layed a figure. Her red orange hair were spread about her, framing her pale milky face. Her eyes were closed and would stay that way, never ever opening again to reveal the auburn jewels inside. She was surrounded by white lilacs, her favorite flowers.

Mrs. Sakamoto leaned over to take one last look at her beloved daughter¡¯s face but she didn¡¯t last a second as her knees gave way and Mr. Sakamoto had to hold her up.

After was Kyle. He stood there and stared at her blank face. Why are you just lying there? His blank dark eyes kept on staring. Come on¡¦ move. Stop playing around. Get up and smile. Your mother¡¯s worried. The figure didn¡¯t even twitch. Come on¡¦ get up! Do anything¡¦ The figure became blurred as tears welled up inside Kyle¡¯s eye. Come on¡¦ please¡¦ do anything.. anything.. Tears slid down his cheek.Do anything¡¦ After a good full minute gone by, the figure did nothing to acknowledge she had heard what he had said. The strength from Kyle¡¯s leg gave way as he kneeled. Tears now freely flowed down his cheek.Do anything¡¦ Just don¡¯t¡¦ Just don¡¯t lye there!!!!! ¡° Just don¡¯t lye there!!!!¡±

Behind him were three others who silently cried. Rejin tried to sniff away his tears. A girl with short dark blonde hair just silently cried. Another girl with long straight black hair just looked blankly at the picture of Kyle and the motionless figure inside the casket. The three friends of the group cried along with Kyle.

Even the sky shared it¡¯s sorrow as suddenly, the heavy clouds couldn¡¯t take it anymore and rain started to pour down upon the group of people. No one noticed that they were getting wet. All they could think about was that one person who had been everything to them was gone and would never ever face them again.

How wrong they were¡¦
