Chapter 4

Acceptance?

¡° Just what¡¯s wrong with you?!¡± She questioned miserably. ¡° Why did you do that? Why¡¯d you dump her? She loved you so much..¡±

Hemiko paused as her eyes skipped over the other speakers part and unto her next part. ¡° But, she really..¡± She groaned in annoyance.

As she read the pieces of the script, even she could tell she wasn¡¯t into what she was saying. Frustrated she looked at her watch and her eyes narrowed in confusion. It was just eight fifty a long time ago, and now it still was eight fifty? Her eyes widened. Unless.. Getting her ears closer to her watch, she confirmed her suspicion by hearing silence. Her watch had stopped!

Her walking immediately turned to running as she ran at top speed toward Siyuki¡¯s building, the place where the audition was to be held.

A hand shot out to grab Kyle¡¯s right hand. The owner of the hand smiled and stated with gratitude. ¡° I¡¯m so glad you had made it here for this audition. After all, we still need an actor¡¯s point of view on people to make this work out.¡± Kyle smiled back. ¡° Glad I could help.¡±

He had just stepped into Siyuki¡¯s building. Unknown to the auditioners, this audition was going to be the last one for the movie, ¡° Scarlet Love¡±. He being a famous actor had been asked if he could help with the judging and Rejin, without his opinion, had put this in his schedule so he had to go along with it.

Soon all the four judges, including Kyle himself were seated and the auditioning was about to start. ¡° Send in Number 1.¡± One of the judges called to the door. Number 1 stepped in and upon seeinng Kyle Eulise suddenly squeaked and turning red, fainted on her feet.

Kyle buried his head into his hand and sighed. This was going to be a long day.

Hemiko ran through the doors of the building just as it was about to close. Huffing, she managed to ask. ¡° Could I have an ticket please?¡± The guard who was about to close the door, smiled in amusement and gave her a ticket. Number 399. She smiled in thanks and began to run toward the twentieth floor where the auditioners were being held.

¡° Number 398.¡± This one kept stuttering so much that not one word was able to be distinguished and understood through the giant masses of sentences he was saying. The four judges sighed silently. But however told the auditioner. ¡° You did well, Mr. Nigel Veran.¡± As soon as Nigel left, a woman in the end of the judging table stood and began to state in a loud voice. ¡° We officially claim this auditioning over for..¡±

Before she could finish, however, the door burst open. Kyle¡¯s eyes widened as his breath caught in his throat.

Hemiko gasped for breath. ¡° Wait. Not yet..¡± Gasp. ¡° I¡¯m number 399.¡± After a few more seconds of catching her breath, she finished. ¡° I¡¯m really sorry for being late but.. if you won¡¯t mind, can I audition now?¡±

The other three judges, excluding Kyle, looked at each other and nodded. So far, they needed one more person to fill in for the cast and haven¡¯t come upon one person with even an ounce of talent of performing act that they needed. So basically they were desperate and wished she would have something that was worth being in the movie.

The judges nodded at Hemiko and a smile of thanks grew on her face.

Positioning herself in the middle of the room, she stated. ¡° I¡¯ll be reciting the part when Teia just got someone spill their feelings out for her.¡± The nods of the judges started the act.

Surprise filled Hemiko¡¯s eyes as she suddenly saw Kyle Eulise sitting there, silently looking at her. A tint of blush emerged from her cheeks. Suddenly she imagined what it would feel like if Kyle had just spilled his feelings for her.

Only that now, she was Teia, a shy but nice girl and Kyle was Chris, the boy who told Teia his feelings of how he felt about her.

¡° I.. I don¡¯t know what to say.¡± She diverted her gaze away from the blue eyes suddenly feeling very uncomfortable being reflected in them. ¡° It¡¯s just that, I never.. I never thought anyone would ever like .. someone.. like .. me..¡± She imagined Chris smile softly. ¡° I..¡± She highered her head to gaze straight into Kyle¡¯s eyes and a determined smile formed on her face. ¡° I like you too. You may not have known this but.. I liked you ever since I ever first saw you.. I love you.¡±

Kyle¡¯s eyes widened as Auditioner number 399 just looked at him and replied the three words. A picture image of Liari came up in his mind. She had said those words on the very night of his seventeenth birthday.

Meanwhile, the other three judges looked at her, trying to decide if the performance was ok for the movie. After a few seconds of looking at each other, the judges reached a decision. The woman at the end stood up and stated. ¡° You got a part!¡±

Happiness filled Hemiko¡¯s features as she heard their approval. She was accepted and one step closer. She looked at each judge with gratitude in her eyes and stopped when she saw Kyle looking at her. Sudden embarrassment came over her. Her acting seemed just like she had just ¡®spilled her feelings¡¯ out for Kyle Eulise!

Her eyes turned to Kyle¡¯s and the sudden embarrassment turned to confusion and surprise. His eyes were blank like he was deeply in thought. Then suddenly, through his eyes, she saw, more likely sensed, a sadness, and was surprised when his dark blue eyes came back to focus and she found her own reflection reflected in his eyes.

Quickly turning back to the judges, she smiled and thanked them once again. She didn¡¯t know why but Kyle¡¯s eyes had produced a cold feeling inside of her. Shivering, she shook off the feeling and continued to be congratulated on the accomplishment and to thank the judges again and again for picking her.

It was Sunday morning, and the studio was crowded with people. Hemiko looked around and was amazed to see actors and actresses she had been only able to see on a TV moniter in real flesh and bones, walking around like real people. Getting out her daze, she looked around for the studio she was suppose to be in. ¡° Studio B-17263¡± She whispered the location to herself. Looking forward, she sweatdropped. She had come to a dead end.

Taking a sharp one hundred eighty degree turn, she was about to head to the opposite side when she crashed into somebody. The figure who she had crashed into let out a shriek as the drink she was holding had been poured all over her shirt. Quickly bowing her head, Hemiko muttered an apology that was unheard over the figure¡¯s distressed yelling.

¡° Watch where you¡¯re going! And what is a little kid like you snooping around the building for?! SECURITY!!¡± Angry at the insult that was thrown at her, Hemiko snapped. ¡° I¡¯m sorry I messed up your shirt and all but it is only just your shirt!¡± Before the woman could yell back at her, Hemiko ran around a corner and in a moment, she disappeared from view.

Danika stood, shocked, and purely disgusted at how that girl had behaved toward her. Wrenching her shirt in her tight grasp, she muttered. She turned to where Hemiko had run off to and cocked her head in confusion.¡± That girl,.. She looks familiar..¡± Shrugging it off, Danika continued on her way.

Dashing up the stairs, Hemiko finally found the studio and ran inside to find a ton of other people in there. Looking over the sea of people, she saw a girl, in her age, with familiar black hair. Recognizing her as Yuiki Takashi, the girl she had seen in one of the auditions, she started toward her, as she was the only person she was familiar with around here.

However, her attempt was cut short as the director held up a megaphone and started to discuss about the cast. ¡° Ladies and gentlements! I welcome you all for being able to participate in this movie making, ¡°Scarlet Love¡±! As you all know, each one of you were chosen to be elligible to participate, and each one of you will be recieveing a part in this movie. But how to choose that part, well, we¡¯ll all have a chance right now to go up on the stage to my left and introduce each of yourselves to the audience we have right here, which is you all. And in the end, me and my staff members will all decide on who¡¯s best for which part. Now if someone will step unto the stage..¡±

A boy stepped up, causing the start of another auditioning.

Hemiko searched through the crowds for that girl. She was starting to feel alone and she needed someone familiar to socialize with. However, it was like finding a black object in darkness. Many people had black hair and also the majority of the crowd seemed to be made up of girls.

Meanwhile, Danika and Rejin came through the studio door. ¡° I¡¯m sorry Kyle couldn¡¯t make it here.¡± ¡° Nah.. Yesterday, he came back like he was half dead. I guess the girls in the auditioning were too much for him!¡± He winked and laughed. Danika¡¯s face however formed into a scowl. ¡° If you¡¯re one of his friends, just act like one! ¡± He stopped laughing. ¡° Just what¡¯s it to you? Why do you care about Kyle so much anyway?¡± ¡° I¡¯m one of his friends. And is it that wrong to care for one of your friends?¡± ¡° Well, in my opinion, you care way too much. You constantly probe me for his schedule, how he is, his favorite things.. ¡± ¡° Just forget it!¡± With that, Danika walked off leaving Rejin behind, heading toward the stage.

¡° Hi. My name¡¯s Danika Masikino. I¡¯m twenty two years old and I¡¯m really hoping to be picked for the part of Teia, even though I probably won¡¯t be picked for that part.¡± Danika laughed sheepishly causing the audience to laugh along with her. Hemiko had now given up and looked up upon the stage. She was good.. She thought. If anybody got picked to be Teia, it¡¯ll probably be her.. She let out a sigh of disappointment but quickly stood tall. Determination filled her eyes. She would just have to do her best and see how it goes. No one could be sure how it would all go until they go through it.

On the other side of the stage, Rejin met with Maime, who was part of the staff. She was looking at each cast member and was deciding who would best fit whose part. ¡° You know, I just don¡¯t see how you could pick.¡± Maime looked at him. ¡° It¡¯s easy. You see that girl over there. Brown curls. Red eyes. Well, by the way she stands, you could tell she¡¯s on vain side and get usually what she wants. She would fit perfectly as Ciea, a girl that¡¯s part of the evil girl¡¯s group. That is.. no offense to her.. but it works out with the story fine.¡± Rejin narrowed his eyes, srudying her. ¡° Yea. Now that you mentioned those ¡®qualities¡¯, it sort of make sense.¡±

¡° Well, good luck with all the matching up thing you¡¯re doing now.¡± Maime let out a laugh. With a wave, Rejin disappeared into the crowds.

Within minutes, there was only two people left to intoduce themselves. ¡° Hi. I¡¯m Yuiki Takashi. I¡¯m eighteen years old and even though I¡¯m young, I promise to you all that I¡¯ll do my best for whatever part that you think is the best for me. Thank you. ¡° She headed off the stage. Next, Hemiko came up. As soon as she turned to face the audience, three people and a few others frozed and paled. ¡° Hi. My name is Hemiko Yamazaki. I¡¯m seventeen years old. And.. well.. I would really like to get the part of Teia. Thank you.¡±

The crowd clapped and she went off the stage. The director came up and announced that the group will meet again on Wednesday afternoon. The crowd dispersed and Hemiko along with the crowd went out of the studio, heading out the building.

Back in the studio, a few peope were left, three of them still frozen in their place. One voice questioned. ¡° The last auditioner, wasn¡¯t she once some famous actress ?¡± Danika, Maime, and Rejin¡¯s eyes met; all of them in a confused shock.

¡° Liari?¡±

Hemiko turned around to come face to face with Kyle Eulise. ¡° Did you call me?¡± She questioned. Kyle looked at Hemiko. ¡° Could we go talk some place?¡± Without waiting for a response, Kyle gently grabbed Hemiko¡¯s hand and they both walked away from the building, onto the busy streets of the city.

Neway, here, we meet Danika.. Did you catch that her personality seems to change around a lot? One minute she was all whiny and bratty, the next annoyed and the next very very innocent and nice.. ok if you didn¡¯t I don¡¯t blame you.. I¡¯ll try to emphasize those points very hard in the future chapters. But if you do, just remember those points are important for future chapters..

Gosh.. that was one big spoiler I gave you guys .. huh?^^-;; and we see Maime and Rejin..

Well, let me explain about the relationships between Kyle, Danika, Liari, Maime, and Rejin. First the relationship between Liari and Kyle, when Kyle was sent to live in Liari¡¯s house after his parents unfortunate death, Liari and Kyle became childhood friends and they grew very close as they grew up. In school, Liari made friends with Danika and Maime. And Kyle best friend with Rejin. And through Liari and Kyle, the group of five friends were born~!^^- So that¡¯s the relationship of this group.

I¡¯m very sad to say I only got one review for last chapter but oh well. It was that bad ne? ^^;;
