The question of mortality

We live our lives day to day,

We question the reason why we be and why we are,

We question of there is a god or are we alone in death,

We watch people’s lives pass by and wonder about our own,

We strive to get out of the box that we know that we are all,

Yet from time we learn something more then just getting out of the box,

We learn that we must not toil with ourselves and others,

But what we are truly learning is how to forget,

How to not see what we don’t want to face,

Though one day we will have to face that,

The ever looming questions of eternity.

We are a scared race,

A race that prides itself on the wonders that our mind can create,

Yet during our wonders, our happiness, and doubts we never look,

Look to see what we had to conceal,

Concealing the faults, failures, and troubles

But that is a good thing.
