Could try, Could just let it fall, Could always be here, Could always be there, The piano plays my song, The guitar strums my heart, And drums beat my pulse As you come home again. I want to be the one on your arm. I want to be the one in your bed I want to be the one you bring it home to, But that is just a dream. That is just a hope that will never be. I know you can have all the girls you want, But why can't it for once be me. She is skin thin, She is perfect, I wish somebody would hurt her. I am but a mere shell without you near. But I am a shell when you are near. I could play this act, And never let you in. I could live like this, And never tell you how I feel. I could never let you in. I could hold back my tears until you could see. See me, Hold me, Touch me, Or just leave me as I am. I could lie to you, Or I could lie to me. Haven't decided yet, Haven't met my match yet, He got lost somewhere between a rock and a hard place. Maybe someday you will see. See just what you mean to me.
