SanctusPrayer 01 – A Devil kissing an Angel

Lines of mist wandered through the streets covering them with a soft carpet, ready to hide any incidents beneath. A few rays of light broke the darkness only adding gloomy shadows in return. Silence had taken over once the sun had set along with the beings of the darkness. Mysterious figures hiding themselves in the comforting embrace of the night, waiting for their opportunity to fulfil their destiny. Spreading angst and horror. And they had nearly succeeded. Too many inhabitants of the city were too feared to actually go out on the streets once the time of evil had come. And those few who dared put themselves into the greatest danger. Only a few escaped the hands of darkness every night. Anyone else had to face a painful death. Just like the young girl in the dark sidewalk. Her last moments had been filled with regrets of not having listened to her parents who had warned her, tried to keep her at home. But she had only laughed. And now her life had ended before it had truely started. Her eyes still reflected every emotion she had felt. Emotions too strong for anyone to take. Her neck was covered with blood, covering the two spots of where he had bitten her. And he was longing for more of the delicious liquid. Maybe he shouldn’t have killed her immediately, a slow might have been better. With her memory and feelings slowly being erased but the blood of hers still existing. Such an easy victim. He licked over his bloody lips and turned to leave the sidewalk. Now he would have to search for someone new, another foolish human being. But during night it was near to impossible. Another walk through the day needed to be done. Nothing dangerous, it was just the light that bothered him. As a being of the darkness itself he could never stand the complete opposite, the light. The element which was told to punish those who are acting against the judgement of the heavenly court. In other words, beings like him. Vampires, demons, devils .... the evil who scared humans, in legends and reality. A grin appeared on his face. And when the light was meant to punish him where was it now? He had killed a human just because of his longing for blood, this delicious liquid which kept him alive for eternity. The light would ever be able to stop him, it was non-existing for him. If he had ever faced a being of the light he would actually believe in the old balance of night and day but with every victim he left behind that thought slowly disappeared.

“And humanity is still believing in the power of light. How foolish.”

Hiding the hands within the pockets of his black leatherjacket, he made his way down the empty street. It was a good feeling to know that people were scared of him. It lifted up his self-confidence even more, making him feel immortal. His glance wandered over the whole area and was suddenly glued onto the church tower. The clock was indicating him that it was nearly before 3am. But something aside from that had caught his attention. A visible shadow on the clock. Someone was standing up at the tower and followed his every move. He didn’t know why but a strange feeling creeped up inside of him. Nothing before had cause him to even feel slightly uneasy but right now he felt it. Fear maybe? Shaking his head he tried to forget about it. He was immortal, he shouldn’t be worried about such a stupid shadow. As his eyes settled upon the clock again the shadow was gone but he couldn’t feel as relieved as he wished to. Standing in the middle of the place before the church his mind focused onto his surroundings. But he couldn’t trail any presence aside from his own. Yet, he knew he wasn’t alone. And that knowledge broke his patience.

“Whoever you are, face me!”

“It took you quite long to realize my presence. Good for me, bad for you.”

A slim figure stepped out of the shadows beside the church. It was covered in a long black coat which nearly touched the ground. He blinked several times as he realized that he was facing a girl. And suddenly had to smirk. Sensing the tasty blood of hers his mind already focused upon biting into her delicious white skin. She would make a wonderful victim. Strange feeling or not, that girl had to be his. A part of him for eternity.

“You will never get that far.”

Stepping forward, the girl smiled lightly. A nearly satisfied smile as if something she was about to do was already done. A dangerous sign which he ignored completely. Instead he started walking towards her, the space between them slowly becoming smaller.

“Wanna bet, honey?”

“You will loose anyways. Your sinful and uncontrolled actions will be ended here and now. By me, vampire boy.”

He stopped all of a sudden. She had said the last sentence with so much confidence that he knew she was deadly serious. This girl knew exactly who he was but who was she? A last step forward and he could meet up with the eyes of hers which were no longer hidden in the shadows. They were of a rich green color, so intense that they seemed to burn. With determination. Her long black coat was lifted by the wind of the night and suddenly he saw it, glittering dangerously in the moonlight. A sword with a quite sharp blade which held a symbol he knew too well. The sign of the prayer. That girl. His head shot up and he faced her with disbelieving eyes. It was her without a doubt, one of the few who could truely harm him.

“Don’t tell me you are ....”

Her perfect eyebrowes only raised in response. It was obvious that she wouldn’t answer nor give a single hint on her identity, he had to find it out himself. He licked his lips. And he already had a guess. All the rumors which had been spread in the underground since months. Two people chasing the beings of darkness which had broken the rules and scared humanity with their actions. One of them being a girl, pretty and graceful, angel-like even fighting with a holy sword. And the image he had made up in his mind actually overlapped with the girl in front of him. He gulped once before he spoke up again, his voice as calm as if he didn’t care.

“Lucia.”

“Point for you. And you certainly know what comes next.”

A light smile played with her lips indicating that she couldn’t wait any longer. With one liquid move, Lucia let the coat slip over her shoulders, revealing her female figure with all of its beauty. The tight black clothes added teir part to give her a nearly sinful touch. With one hand touching the handle of her sword she winked at the vampire who wasn’t sure about how to answer. The situation seemed to get out of his control.

“Wanna play some sweet game with me?”

He stepped back, trying to gain more space between him and her. No being who had fought with Lucia had escaped her blade of death. None had survived to give an actual idea of her style of fighting what would make the upcoming fight difficult for him. Yet he was more than determinated to survive and to show her who was the strongest of them two. His fangs shone as he got hold of his small dagger.

“I have no other choice anyways. Prepare yourself, honey”

“You are the one to be prepared. Face the angel of death!”

Without another warning, Lucia drew her blade and attacked. Her moves were incredible fast and fluid, nearly too fast to be avoided. He jumped back but not far enough. The blade met up with his lower arm leaving him with the sensation of pain. Looking down he noticed a long wound which seemed to grow as the blood made its way through it. Silver. The blade was mad eof pure silver, the only material which could actually hurt him. Hurting others was a great pleasure to him but being hurt himself didn’t cause the same satisfaction. The grip around the dagger tightened and he joined the game. With an inhuman growl he threw himself at her, trying to stab it right into her chest. But he wasn’t destinied to succeed. Lucia disappeared in front of his eyes and the dagger only cut through the air. His mind started to race, trying desperately to locate her presence but it was impossible. Only a move in the air above him indicated his end. He looked up to see her flying in the air, white wings supporting her. The sword shone brighter than the moon itself, letting him forget about the girl who lead it. He didn’t move or growl anymore for that it was already too late. The blade touched his left shoulder and slowly moved through his body before reappearing above his right hip. His blood streamed over his clothes and her blade, dripping onto the ground and leaving a dark puddle. For once he got an idea of how all of his victims must have felt like when he had stolen all of their life by drinking their blood. The juice which kept all beings alive and which left him in that very moment. His painfilled eyes opened to face the emerald ones of Lucia which were shining with satisfaction. And even pleasure? He wasn’t left with enough time to think about that as Lucia raised her sword again, cutting his already torn body into even smalled pieces which fell down on the ground. His life had ended after nearly 250 years. And she felt no regret for what she had done. For this she had seen too many dead beings of which not a small number had found death through her own hands.

“That’s the price you have to pay for a better future.”

A light sigh escaped her lips as she stepped back from the heap of remaining vampire pieces. Lucia gathered her coat and put it back on. While tightening the belt which held her sword, her eyes trailed over the place before they remained at a certain spot hidden within the shadows. Only seconds passed before she turned the attention back to her last victim.

“I guess I’m gaining routine. Don’t you think so, Kage?”

A dark figure teared itself from the shadows and headed towards her, his red eyes never leaving the pieces of bones and muscles on the ground which were slowly disappearing into ashes. She had really done a good job that time but he had expected nothing else. Embracing her from behind, Kage enjoyed the scent of death which now filled the air and mixed itself with the sinful one of Lucia herself.

“Without a doubt. You don’t need my guidance anymore, angel of death.”

One hand left its position on her waist and brushed the hair from the right side of neck, revealing her pure white skin. Lowering his head, the fangs of his gleamed brightly in the moonlight before they digged into her, lightly yet strong enough to leave a bloody wound. The small lines of blood were licked away by his tongue before Kage went over to caress her neck with passionate kisses. Lucia’s arms went up to get hold of his shoulders in order to pull him closer while admiring every little bite and kiss of him. Her eyes opened to face the starry sky and the full moon.

“Will it ever end?”

“Not until we’ve wiped out all those who break the rules.”

Kage’s lips left her delicate neck and placed a kiss on her soft hair before he stepped back and looked up at the moon as well. That silver ball truely had something magical about it. It was the sun of the night, the indicator for certain events happening in the underground. Suddenly he felt Lucia’s hands on his chest. They held onto his silk shirt of bloody color. She was longing for his embrace and he gave in with pleasure. The pieces of the vampire had disappeared into nothing as he lifted her chin up and both of them melted into a heated, passionate kiss. When they finally parted both were catching for breath.

“Who would have though that an angel can kiss like the devil of sin himself?”

“You should know by now that I’m not that innocent.”

A playful expression appeared on Lucia’s face and Kage had to gain the last pieces of self-control to not kiss her to the edge of unconsiousness. Instead he just shook his head and started to head over to his car with a giggling girlfriend behind him. Tonight’s mission was fulfilled but a new night with a mission would await them. For then they should enjoy the peace left.

Where’re the world heading to with a devil kissing an angel? Together in a sinful relationship, exchaning heated and passionate kisses and touches. Wiping out those of their kinds which are breaking the rules. For a better future. The price for eternity is high and death is a needed price for peace.
