As time rushed by,

Decorations were hung.

Streamers, banners, and balloons.

Arriving guests

Were sent to the basement.

Soon the clock came upon

2:30pm.

Friends gathered in the basement

With lights turned off.

Nervous chatters were heard

By us upstairs.

Peeking out the window,

And looking at the time,

We paced back and forth

Nervously.

As we saw a van pull up,

We hushed the people downstairs.

Rushing to the door,

Casually opening it,

Two sisters walked in.

Leading them down the stairs,

A friend spoke up,

"I changed my basement,

A LOT."

As lights flickered on,

A great SURPRISE was shouted.

"Surprise! Happy Birthday!

To Heidi and Stacy!"

A/N: This poem isn't that great, but I think the event is memorable enough to outweigh the crappy style.
