A Million Times Over

This plan you said was mine

It would never fail and everything would turn out fine

And you spoke of stardom and fame

So like always we went back to yesterday

How could I have known that

Our hopes and dreams could tumble down

And how could I have followed you

When I knew, when I knew

Life works in circles

There’s no bottom or top to this game

No up or down, it spins you around

And brings you back to the end

Somehow we got trapped in the loop

There’s no chance for that fifty-gun salute

And we’re now right back where we began

Ready to star our journey once again

How could I have gotten myself

Into this overrated spiral of life

And how could I have followed you

When I knew, when I knew

Life works in circles

There’s no bottom or top to this game

No up or down, it spins you around

And brings you back to the end

Life works in circles

There’s no bottom or top to this game

We spin around and it all falls down

Right back to the end
