Her Soft Green Eyes and His Long Silver Wings

Chapter 1 Her Soft Eyes

By Fantasygirl

AN: Yay I finally finished typing this. It took me weeks you know with school and all. (Stupid science and S.S. teacher they give me too much homework.) Anyways the first half of this chapter is going to start out slow, but by the end there will be a lot more action. Hope you like it Ta Ta!

"Hey wake up! Wake up Hyomi!" said a very loud voice. The girl inside the room stirred a bit then woke up. She drowsily got up from bed and opened the door.

"What do you want Mell?" Hyomi murmured sleepily.

Oh Hyomi, I know you didn't forget!" Mell replied.

Hyomi yawned a bit. "Forget what?"

"Today is the day that Yeili officially becomes the crowned prince. Today's his birthday, he's thirteen now," Mell explained.

Hyomi slapped a hand against her forehead. "Oh my gosh!"

"Jeesh girl! How could you forget?! I mean you're only like his best friend!" Mell yelled.

"What time does it start?" Hyomi asked hastily.

"In about an hour," Mell said.

"Okay see you then," Hyomi said. Mell left and Hyomi went to put her armor on. She was one of the two lady knights. Mell was the other one. Her armor was made up of three colors. Light green, white and light yellow. Bright colors for a bright kingdom of Celestial Hope.

When she was done placing her armor on, she went to brush her hair. She had short blonde hair. So short that from a distance you would have thought that she was a boy. She was also very tall for a girl. About half the knights were shorter that her. But her eyes. Her eyes were a bright green and very soft. In fact as Yeili had put it one day, "you have the softest eyes I've ever seen."

After she was finished with her hair she grabbed her sword and put it in its holster on her belt. Now she was ready and she walked out of the room that she had in the castle.

The room was full of decorations. As Hyomi walked through the room she spotted Mell in front of a line of knights. Closest to the King and the Queen, who sat in their thrones. Mell had dark skin and black hair pulled back into a ponytail. Her armor was a bit darker than Hyomi's and instead of a sword she had a bow and arrow. Mell had dark purple eyes. Hyomi joined her into the row of knights.

In a few minutes the ceremony began. Yeili slowly walked into the room. He was dressed in full armor as if he was going to go into battle. Yeili had orange brown hair and dark blue eyes. He wore a long gold cape and silver and light green armor. The King stood as his son approached him. The Queen remained seated. When Yeili reached him he kneeled down on one knee. Before he resumed his glance on his father, he gave a quick wink to Hyomi. The King took out his sword and pointed it at the top of Yeili's head.

"Yeili, son of the King and Queen, you are now of age and I crown you, Prince Yeili," the King chanted. The tip of the sword slightly touched Yeili's head. A spark or two flew from the sword into Yeili. " You have received the gift of Celestial Hope."

The room suddenly rang with applause and cheering. The King sat down and the Queen placed a beautiful silver crown on Yeili's head. The cheers and applaud grew louder. Yeili shed his serious face as big smile grew on his face. "Let the festivities begin!"

After about an hour of talking dancing and singing the celebration began to die down. Hyomi found Yeili in the garden. He was sitting on a stone bench, gazing at the heavens. Hyomi found a spot next to him. "So Prince Yeili, how does it feel now that you're a prince?"

"To be honest it feels the same," he said moving his gaze towards her. His expression softened as her continued to stare at her.

"Why do you stare at me that way?" she asked curiously.

"You have amazing eyes," he answered.

"They're not all that great," Hyomi replied.

Yeili ignored her and continued. "Especially in the moonlight."

Hyomi looked up to see the full moon. It was bright and radiant. She sighed and said, "You flatter me too much."

"And you need to boast your self esteem up," Yeili retorted. They both giggled.

"Well Prince Yeili, I must be going," Hyomi said as she got up.

"Hyomi, please, you can continue to call me Yeili. We have known each other since we were toddlers. No need for formalities," Yeili stated. Hyomi nodded her head and left.

Later that night Hyomi awoke from small tap on her window. She got out of bed walked over to the window. She was surprised to see Yeili's big grin in front of her. He motioned for her to open the window.

"What are you doing here?" Hyomi asked. "And how?"

Yeili's grin grew bigger. "Celestial Hope's gift isn't just a tap on the head."

Hyomi looked confused. He noticed this and he moved away a bit so she could get a better look at him. She gasped as she saw two silvery wings sprouting from his back.

"They're so beautiful!" Hyomi said still recovering from the shock.

"Wanna go for a ride?" Yeili asked.

"I'd love to but I'm still in my pajamas," she replied. Yeili ignored her. He reached in and pulled her from the window. She let out a small yelp as he settled her into his arms. He flew off. Into the clouds and above. Hyomi clasped her eyes shut, afraid to look down. Yeili noticed this and tried to comfort her.

"I won't drop you Hyomi. Just trust me," he said softly. Hyomi slowly opened her eyes and saw the wonderful view. The full moon was shining brighter than ever. And the stars were so vivid you could see every last one of them. All wrapped in glorious midnight blue.

After flying for few minutes, Yeili felt Hyomi's body go limp. He looked down to see that she had fallen asleep. He smiled and flew back to her room. He flew though the window and laid her gently in her bed. Before he left he pulled the cover to her chin to make sure she stayed warm.

The next few months were pretty normal. Yeili learned to fly even than before. He also learned how to retracted his wings when he doesn't need. Mell and Hyomi practice swords each morning, so everything was going fine in the Celestial Hope Kingdom. Until one day.

Hyomi woke up to a lot of commotion. She put on some regular clothes and went out see what was happening. She spotted Mell in the large crowds of knights and maids, and decided to ask her.

"You know how Yeili's older brother was missing and thought dead?" Hyomi nodded. "Well they found him and he's declared war against our kingdom."

"What! Where is he?" Hyomi asked.

"In Cela."

"Oh no, that's where my little brother is!" Hyomi yelled. "Why did he declare war?"

"He wants to overthrow the King. He believes that our King is unfit to rule the kingdom," Mell explained.

"It's been ten years, I thought he was dead," Hyomi replied. "What has the king done about it?"

"The King has no other choice but to defend his kingdom. But he wishes the army to bring back his son alive," Mell continued.

"When does it start?" Hyomi questioned.

"Next week on Wind Hill," Mell answered. Hyomi muttered a thanks and left to find Yeili. She found him in the garden, sitting on the same stone bench. His expression was a mix of confusion and shock. Hyomi sat down next to him and placed a hand on his shoulder.

"Are you okay?" Hyomi asked in a sympathetic voice.

"Yeah, I'm just very shocked," Yeili replied. "I mean after thinking your brother is dead for ten years and then found out he's after all, really leaves you thinking." Hyomi nodded. Yeili continued. "And when he declares war on our kingdom. I just don't understand."

"It's okay to be confused. I'm also confused," Hyomi said.

"Are you going to fight?" Yeili asked

"Yes."

"Please don't."

"Are you going to fight?" Yeili asked

"Yes."

"Please don't," Yeili pleaded.

"I must. I am a knight. I must insure your safety," she replied.

"I'm going to fight also. I have to confront my brother and ask him why he is doing this," Yeili stated. "I will not stop you," Hyomi said. "I have to go."

"Where are you going?" Yeili asked.

"I have to get my brother from Cela," Hyomi explained. "He's not safe there."

"I'll go with you!"

"No," she said. "It's not necessary. I'll be back within a day."

"Be careful, Hyomi."

Hyomi dressed herself in normal clothes to make herself look like she wasn't a knight. She wore a white sleeveless shirt and a blue skirt. She walked down to the castle's stable and picked out one of the horses. She chose a white stallion, saddled him up and galloped towards Cela.

Cela was an ordinary town and usually very peaceful. When Hyomi arrived she noticed immediately that the whole town was crawling with soldiers. They all gave her suspicious looks. She decided not to ask them about her brother. Finally she found a middle-aged woman walking down the road.

"Excuse me ma'am, but have you seen a boy about seven years old with blonde hair and green eyes," Hyomi asked.

"Yes," the woman said. "But he and his family was captured by the soldiers, they found out that they were part of the Celestial Hope Kingdom."

"Oh no! Quickly! Where they did take them?" Hyomi asked frantically.

"To Opaque Castle," the woman answered. Hyomi yelled thanks as she galloped towards the castle. After a few minutes, she found herself in front of a black castle. She jumped off her horse and tied him to a tree. She walked through the unguarded front doors slowly and cautious. As she walked stealthily through, she glanced at her surroundings. Everything was dark and gloomy. After taking a few turns, Hyomi finally found a prison like place. She was encircled with cells. All of them empty.

In the distance she could hear a small voice crying. A boy's voice. She followed it until she found a small boy crying in the corner. It was her brother.

"J.J.!" She cried. The little boy stopped crying and turned around. A big smile started to develop.

"Hyo!" he called back. Hyomi stuck an arm through the bars and grasped his tiny hands.

"J.J. are you okay?" Hyomi asked.

"I'm okay sis but mom and dad are." J.J.'s eyes started to tear up again.

"Come on I'll get you out of there, she said with tears in her eyes also. "Stand back," she said as she repeatedly kicked the bars. After a few minutes the bars broke and made enough room for J.J. to get out. They then ran out of the castle as fast as they could.

It was now raining outside. The thunder bellowed and the lightning lit the sky. Blocking their escape was a man in full armor. In his left hand was a long jagged sword. His red eyed seemed to glow through the rain and the dark sky. Hyomi quickly told J.J. to get out of the way. Even though she was unarmed she was going to defend herself and her little brother.

"We don't need to fight. If you let us through I'm sure we can avoid a conflict," Hyomi said as she got into a fighting stance.

"My orders are to destroy anyone who tries to escape this castle," the man said.

"By the way what's your name?" Hyomi asked.

"My name is Tyson, you executioner."

At the next crackle of thunder the fight began. Tyson slashed at her with his sword but Hyomi dodged. He swung his sword at her a few more times, however Hyomi dodged them all. Tyson stopped his attack and retreated back a couple of steps. Suddenly he dashed directly at her at a blinding speed. The blade of the sword cut through her left side, leaving a horrible and painful gash. She fell to her knees shaking in pain, holding her left side. She could feel her strength slipping away and in one final plea, before she lost consciousness, she said, "Help me Yeili."

Yeili woke up in a start, dripping in sweat. His nightmare was terrible and so real. After recovering from his dream, he could feel something was wrong. He faintly heard someone call his name. He knew where he had to go. He quickly got dressed in a sleeveless blue shirt and gray sweat pants. He grabbed his sword and got a horse from the stables. He rode to Cela in the pouring rain.

As Yeili rode through the streets of Cela he found it hard to see through the rain. He strained his eyes as he could to find her. His effort rewarded him when he found a blonde girl lying on the ground. Next to her was a man pointing a sword strait at her back, ready to strike the final blow. In an exploding increase in adrenaline, Yeili found himself flying through the air at an impossible speed.

"HYOMI!!" Yeili yelled as he thrusted the sword into the attacker's chest. Tyson fell down with a thud. Yeili rushed to Hyomi's side.

"Hyomi?" Yeili whimpered as tears streamed down his cheeks. He picked up her limp body and cradled her into his arms. Her eyes opened gradually and this relieved him.

"You came for me," Hyomi whispered. "How?"

"I felt someone calling me," he replied in the same tone. "Let's go home."

"Wait," she said. "Don't leave my brother."

"Where is he?' Yeili asked.

"I'm here," said a new voice. Yeili turned his head to see J.J. "Is my sis going to be okay?"

"Yes, don't worry," Yeili said tenderly. The boy's big eyes looked at him in awe.

"Are you an angel?" the boy asked. Yeili laughed a bit.

"No," he replied.

"Are you sure, you sure look like one," J.J. resumed

"I'm pretty sure J.J." Yeili said.

From a window in one of the towers in Opaque Castle, a young man watched the three disappear from the castle. I'm going to have so much fun with them he thought. And when I am done I will rule Celestial Hope Kingdom. This will avenge my childhood depression. The man laughed briefly. Dear brother my fun has just begun.
