Chapter 4 Their Love By Fantasygirl

AN: Sorry this took so long. School and PS2 really get in the way. I'm glad to announce that. IT'S DONE! There might be a few mistakes. Other than that please enjoy! ^_^ PS Please review!

It was very late at night and the crescent moon was high in the sky. Yeili woke up and was surprised to see it so dark. He sat up and felt a small pressure around his arm. He looked to the side and saw Hyomi lying beside him. Her arms were encircled around his. She started to stir and awoke. She sat up a bit and fluttered her eyes a bit. She gasped when she saw Yeili's eyes staring directly at her. There was an awkward silence; Yeili was the first to speak.

"Hyomi," he started "I'm sorry."

"Huh?" she asked.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to hurt your feelings like that," he apologized. "Please forgive me."

"Yeili, you don't have to apologize. It's my fault. I'm sorry that I yelled at you. I understand now that you were just trying to protect me," she said. "And I was trying to protect you."

They stared at each other for a while. Yeili put his arms around her and stroked her back. "Stay by my side," he whispered in her ear. "I don't want you out of my sight during the fight." Hyomi nodded her head. "I have a bad feeling about this," Yeili said. "Real bad."

Hyomi looked up at him. "You're planning to die aren't you?" she said in a wavy voice. He said nothing, but she got her answer when she felt his grip around her go tighter.

"I had a dream," he explained. "No, a vision. We were fighting against my brother. He used a magical attack on you but I pushed you out of the way and took the hit myself. I saw you leaning over me but it went blank from there.

"Yeili, it was just a dream. It is not prophesizing anything," Hyomi replied.

"That wasn't all of it. Before that there was a wolf who turned into a girl. She gave me this diamond thing and that's when the vision started," he continued.

"But still doesn't mean anything," Hyomi said. "I'm not going to lose you," she whispered to herself.

A noise was heard from the campsite. Hyomi and Yeili got up and ran to the campsite. The sun was starting to rise. When that got to the campsite it was deserted. They ran through the trees looking for the group. They came to a grassy hill and trudged up. Below were the knights with the king leading them. Hyomi and Yeili walked down the hill and approached the king.

"What is happening, father?" Yeili asked. "He's coming," the king responded simply.

As the sun began to pierce the night sky, a black blur appeared at the horizon. It was soldiers. Hundreds and hundreds of armor clad warriors. Leading them was Prince Kai. But something was different about him. On his right arm was some kind of black armor. It had a red orb in the middle of the armor.

"Father! You and your soldiers are the first to witness the power of my Dark Warriors!" Kai yelled gallantly. The warriors weren't human. They were dark energy hiding in armor. None of them had faces, just a lifeless dark void. 'Kill them all," Kai commanded.

The dark warriors immediately dashed at the knights and the battle began. As the fight started Kai who was currently finishing off one of the Dark Warriors began to sneak away. Yeili noticed this and gestured to Hyomi to follow him. They ran through the battlefield and fond Kai standing with his back turned.

Meanwhile Mell as slicing through those dark warriors like cake. The dark energy expelled from each soldier and left armor behind. Mell had great skill as a warrior. As the fight continued the king realized that his son was missing.

"Where is my son?" he asked himself. He turned to Mell. "Lady Mell, lead the knights in my absence."

"Yes sire," she said. "But might I ask where are you going."

"To find my son," he replied. He ran off in the direction where Hyomi and Yeili went. After a few moments the kind found them.

"Yeili!" the king yelled.

Yeili turned around. "Father!"

"Well it seems that we have a family reunion," Kai commented. "But now all of you will vanish for all eternity!"

The strange armor on this arm started to glow an eerie red color. The grass they were standing on turned black and soon everything around them disappeared and turned black.

"Where are we?" Hyomi asked.

"Kai! What is this?!" Yeili questioned.

"It's a void of emptiness, dear brother, prince Kai responded. Hyomi retreated a few steps but her back hit something hard. She turned around and touched what hit her. It was some kind of wall.

"We're trapped," she said

"Why are you doing this?" Yeili asked.

"To avenge my tortured soul," he replied. "You were always the favorite Yeili. I could never live up to father's dreams like you. I wasn't interested in becoming a strong fighter. So father ignored me and began to grow angry. That anger turned into hate. My suffering will end when you two die."

Yeili felt pit towards his brother. He had no idea Kai felt this way. His brighter continued. "After 10 years of rigorous training, I've finally become strong enough to defeat you. With the help of this armor piece." Yeili's glance shifted towards the armor. "What is it you ask; well it's called the demon armor. With this I can control dark magic."

"If you are only angry with father and me, then leave Hyomi out of this," Yeili snarled. Kai didn't answer; he just smiled wickedly.

"How strong is your bond with him? Can it be broken? Lets test it," Kai said. His eyes sharply shifted towards Hyomi's direction. His eyes started to glow an eerie blue. Hyomi's arms went straight. Her expression was full of confusion.

"I . can't move," she muttered.

"Hyomi?" Yeili inquired. He turned his head to face his brother. "What have you done to her?"

Prince Kai ignored and his eyes grew brighter. Hyomi sank to her knees and held her head in her hands.

"What? What's happening?" Yeili asked confused.

"He's trying . to control me," she strained. She was using all her will power to fight against the mind control. Yeili turned to Kai and dashed at him. He was about to strike him with his sword but something blocked it. Yeili turned to the right saw Hyomi block his sword with hers.

"Hyomi what are you doing?" Yeili asked. She didn't answer. Her head was tilted to the ground hiding her face. "What's wrong?" She lifted her head a bit but something was weird. Her eyes were so . lifeless. Her eyes were blank as if you were staring at an empty shell.

"Nothing is wrong, brother; she is simply under my control," Kai said. Yeili narrowed his eyes.

"Hyomi snap out of it!" he yelled She ignored him and slashed at him, but he blocked. "Hyomi don't let him control you!"

She went into a cycle of a few more attacks, which Yeili blocked.

"Yeili!" the king called. "You have to fight her!"

"No father, I can't," he replied.

"Yeili don't let your feelings for her blind you. That is not the Hyomi you knew. Just an empty shell!"

Yeili dropped his sword and held out his arms. "I will find her then."

Hyomi came rushing towards him.

"Hyomi, do you remember our childhood," he said softly. She still came.

"Do you remember all the laughs and sorrows?"

Closer.

"Do you remember yourself?"

Minutes away.

"Don't let it control you, come back to me."

She slowed down. He took a couple of steps forward; she dropped her sword.

"What are you doing? Kill him!" Kai commanded. But his voice was death to her ears.

"Listen to the sound of my voice and return to me. Hyomi, you're my knight, my best friend, my-" he hesitated. "My love."

Kai's eyes started to glow again and Hyomi was back into attack. But before she could act, Yeili grabbed both of her hands and pinned her to the wall. He traced her jaw line with his fingers and she began to giggle softly. Yeili knew very well this was her ticklish spot. The giggles soon turned into high-pitched squeals as he continued to tickle her.

"Yeili, stop that!" she said in between laughter. She was back to normal. Kai was mad.

"My games are over. Time for the real fun," Kai announced. "I'm going to break you, mentally and physically." Kai drew his sword from its holster. Yeili picked up his off the ground.

"You and my father try and find away out of here. I'll fight Kai." Yeili said in almost a sad voice.

"My son it's my responsibility. He's my son I should have to fight him," the King stated.

"No he is in too deep with me. He will perish for what he has put Hyomi through, Yeili said angrily.

"Are you still planning to die Yeili?" she asked. Without saying a word he gently grabbed her by the arm and gave her a short kiss on the lips. Hyomi was stunned for a few moments but came out of it quickly. She decided to continue her question. "Well, are you?" She felt his arms circle around her.

"I love you," he whispered into her ear and he walked off towards Kai. His statement had two meanings. One meant the obvious, the other meant goodbye.

"Are you ready brother?" Prince Kai asked. Yeili nodded. With a swift slash of the sword the fight began.

Yeili fiercely charged at him and attacked, however, Kai deflected it. Kai wasn't joking when he said no more games. When Yeili attacked again, Kai countered with a magical attack. The dark energy wave narrowly missed Yeili. It vanished when it hit the void's wall. The two brothers continued to fight.

Hyomi sighed in frustration. There was no way to get out. She and the King searched every inch of the void. The only way out was through Kai

The battle grew more vicious. Their fighting power was almost equal. Sounds of clinking metal were exceedingly loud and rapid. Kai fired another magical attack, but this time it wasn't for Yeili.

"Hyomi!" Yeili cried as he ran towards her Yeili knew in his heart he would not reach her time. Hyomi was too shocked to move. Her expression was frozen in a state of terror. She closed her eyes and waited for the blow. She felt nothing. Hyomi opened her eyes to see the King in front of her. He had taken the attack for her. He sank to the ground.

"Father no!" Yeili screamed. He ran to his father's side. The king was mortally wounded. This was his last day.

"Thank you," Hyomi said meekly. "For saving me."

"Yeili you have been a great son to me," the King said weakly." You have a strong heart. If your bond with Hyomi is true you will be able to defeat all dark magic."

"Father," Yeili whimpered. The King's eyes shifted to Hyomi.

"Hyomi, take good care of my son," the King said in his last breath. Yeili looked at the ground while a stream of tears trickled down his face. Hyomi placed a hand on his shoulder in a comforting manner. He grasped it and squeezed it tightly.

"We have something in common," he stated calmly.

"What's that?" Hyomi asked.

"Both of our fathers have passed on."

"Stupid senile old fool. He got what he had coming," Kai said. Yeili didn't respond he just stared at the ground while holding Hyomi's hand. "Time to die!" He pointed his hand to Hyomi and Yeili. Yeili turned his head right as the blast shot. Hyomi's arms fastened around his neck. They would at least die together. Time seemed to freeze as the attack became closer. Right when the blast was about to hit them something extraordinary. A barrier of light surrounded them and reflected the attack back to Kai. It hit him and he fell backwards. Yeili felt something in his hand. He opened his hand up and found some kind of diamond.

"The Celestial Hope Diamond," Yeili said. "This was in my dream."

"How?" Kai gasped. His darkened. He had heard of the Celestial Hope Diamond. It had the power to withstand all dark magic it used in the proper way.

The diamond shined brightly in Yeili's hand. The light spread through the entire area and the void disappeared.

"My void!" Kai yelled. "It's gone. No matter. I still have my trump card. Which I will release now!"

The ground under them began to ripple. A huge hole formed into the . "Dark Dragon! Arise!" Kai summoned. A large black dragon escaped from the hole. Its eyes glowed blood red. Its teeth were long sharp. Two lengthy wings grew from his back.

"Yeili what is that?" Hyomi said fearfully. Her grip around Yeili's neck tightened to the point of choking him. "The ultimate evil," Yeili replied. "Dark Dragon is the catalyst of all dark magic."

The Dark Dragon roared which sounded like a bloodcurdling screech.

"Yeili, its time for you and this entire kingdom to face my wrath.

"Come and catch me." Kai said. He hopped on top of the dragons' head. The dragon spread its wings and took off. Straight towards the kingdom.

"He's headed to the kingdom!" Hyomi exclaimed.

"I'm going to stop him." Yeili said sternly. In a great flash of light, his wings appeared on his back. "You stay here and warn the others."

"No, I'm going with you!" She insisted firmly.

He sighed and secured an arm tightly around her waist. "There's no use arguing with you." They flew into the air after the dragon at incredible speed. When they caught up with the Dark Dragon he shot a massive ball of negative energy towards them. Yeili flew to the right and dodged it easily.

It was harder to fly now that Yeili was carrying Hyomi. She wasn't very light especially with all her armor on. The castle was only a little bit away now. The dragon began to gain speed. Its head suddenly swung around and fired a sphere of raw energy. The attack nicked the edge of Yeili's left wing. He dropped speed and altitude greatly. Kai glanced behind him and smiled devilishly.

"Yeili are you okay?!" Hyomi asked, her grip around his neck grew tighter.

"," he stuttered painfully. "It's just a scratch."

The dragon reached the kingdom. It took a deep breath and exhaled a valley of fire. The Dark Dragon destroyed many houses and shops. Prince Kai seemed to enjoy this. A sick, corrupted smile was spreading across his face. But a voice interrupted his fun.

"Kai! Stop it! These people have done nothing to you!" Yeili yelled.

"Everything connected to you will die. These people re your subjects, so they must perish." Kai answered. There was a sinful glint in his eyes.

"Fight me. Away from the kingdom." Yeili demanded. "No magic, no dragons, just our swords."

Kai thought for a moment. "Fine." he agreed as he took out his sword. They landed in a forest clearing nearby. The two brothers faced each other. Staring dangerously at one another. Yeili felt a small tug on his arm. He turned around to see Hyomi staring at his with a very serious look upon her face.

"Yeili, I want you to come out of this alive, okay?" she said. He smiled at her and looked deeply into her eyes.

"Have I told you that you have very beautiful eyes lately?" He asked. She smiled slightly and shook her head. "Then I'm telling you now." He took her by the shoulders and kissed her fully on the lips. When the kiss ended. Hyomi stood there in a daze.

"Forgive me." He said softly. He hit her in the head with the hilt of his sword. She was knocked unconscious. He caught her before she fell. He laid her against a tree away from danger. He walked back to Prince Kai.

"One last glance." Kai said. Yeili's eyes slid towards Hyomi's direction. When he looked back he saw Kai coming after him. His sword pointed directly at his heart. Yeili flew out of the way in the nick f time. He landed behind him. Prince Kai charged at him again but Yeili flew out of the way.

Kai growled. "I say we change the odds." In a great beam of light two long gray wings sprouted from his back. After seeing Yeili's shocked face he said, "I also have the gift."

The fight became airborne from that point on. The two winged men fought with all they had. Still, the battle was tipped into Yeili's favor. With an extra hard thrust to his sword he sent his older brother flying. Kai landed hard on the ground. He got up slowly and wiped the blood from his lip. He glared daggers at his sibling. Then a crooked smile started to form on his face. He glimpsed at the Dark Dragon, who had been waiting patiently to attack. The dragon seemed to understand what Kai wanted and it crushed Yeili with its tail. When Yeili finally found his balance he turned to his brother angrily.

"Kai we agreed that there will be no dragons in this fight!" Yeili yelled furiously.

"Since when do I follow the rules?" Kai responded. He cackled a bit and then shot a magical attack at Yeili.

Yeili did not have enough time to dodge. The attack hit him at full force and in the blink of an eye he was on the ground. After a few moments he started to get up. He struggled a bit but was soon on his feet. He flew back into the air and the fight continued.

Prince Kai smiled at his weakened brother. He cast a glance at the dragon and at the same time fired a magical attack at Yeili. Yeili couldn't block it and was flung out of the sky and unto the ground harshly. He didn't get up.

Hyomi began to wake up. She had a bad headache. When she was fully awake she spotted Yeili on the ground motionlessly. She rushed to his side in a blind panic.

"Yeili!" she cried as she tried to shake him awake. But it wasn't working. "Yeili! Yeili, wake up!"

He didn't move

She took him in her arms, his head resting on her shoulder. "Yeili, you have to get up." She murmured.

"He is never going to get up you silly little girl." Kai sneered. "For he isn't among the living anymore."

Hyomi shook her head. "No, he can't be! He just can't be! He can't be dead!" she cried hysterically. Hyomi looked down at the still figure in her arms. He looked so peaceful lying there.

"Yeili." She whispered. Suddenly she felt him move.

"Hyomi." He moaned. He opened his eyed slightly. "Why are you crying?"

Hyomi looked confused. She brought a hand to her face and felt the wet tears on her cheek. She didn't know she was crying until now.

"I.I thought you were dead." She answered.

"Don't cry over me Hyomi. I don't want to be the cause of your sadness." He replied. He got to his feet.

"Yeili, what are you doing?" Hyomi asked.

"I'm gonna finish this fight." Yeili said.

"How?"

"I'm going to use the Celestial Hope Diamond." He explained. If it is truly great it will help me defeat my brother." He held the diamond in his hands,(it had been around his neck the whole time.) He walked towards his brother gripping the diamond tightly in his hands.

"Still alive?" Kai asked. He chuckled. "Not for long." He fired another magical attack at him. Yeili stood his ground, waiting for the diamonds magic to work. Yet nothing happened. Before he was hit by the attack Hyomi tackled him to the ground. The beam flew over them and crashed into a tree.

"Why didn't it work?" Yeili asked himself.

"Yeili, I know you don't want me to fight but we have t do this together if we want to defeat your brother." Hyomi said.

"Hyomi, I think you've figured it out!" Yeili exclaimed.

"Huh?"

"The diamond didn't work because we were separated." Yeili explained.

"I don't understand." Hyomi replied.

"Do you remember what my father said before he died? He said 'If our bond is true, we will be able to defeat all evil.'" He held her close and the diamond began to glow. "Our love powers the diamond."

"Then let's finish this." Hyomi said.

"Right." Yeili agreed. They stood up.

"Finally decided to fight eh? Well, prepare to be annihilated." Prince Kai said.

"You're the one who will be annihilated." Yeili retorted. He put one arm around Hyomi's waist while the other held the diamond. Hyomi placed a hand on the diamond as well.

The diamond started to glow brighter then ever. Kai began to charge blindly forward and was then engulfed by a radiant beam of light. The dragon was also buried in the light. The light shone all about them, expelling all darkness and evil.

When the light faded away nothing was left of Prince Kai or the dragon. The Celestial Hope Diamond had also vanished. Yeili sighed and passed out from exhaustion. Hyomi caught him before he fell. She smiled a bit and said, "So it's over now."

It was the next day. Yeili had mostly recovered from his wounds but was still a bit sore her and there. He told Hyomi to wait in the garden while he told his mother what had happened. She hadn't taken the death of her husband very lightly.

"WHAT?!" she screamed.

"I'm sorry, but father has passed on." Yeili said gently.

"But why? Why would he do a thing like that?" the Queen asked.

"He protected Hyomi for me." Yeili replied in an almost whisper.

"Please son, just leave me alone to bear the loss." The Queen said through tears.

"Yes, Mother."

Meanwhile Mell was very proud of herself. She had led the Knights into victory. They had defeated Prince Kai's army with ease. She found it sad that the King died. She gazed out the window in her room. She wondered what would happen next. She figured out time would tell.

Hyomi and Yeili reached the top of the hill. They sat down under the shade of a tree. From their spot they could see all of the Celestial Hope Kingdom. Hyomi leaned against Yeili.

"I'm happy this is all over and we can live peacefully now." She said quietly.

"Yeah." Yeili agreed. The sun began to set which just made their view that much more beautiful.

"How long will it last?" she asked.

"Huh?" he questioned.

"How long will the peace last?" she replied.

He sighed. "I really can't tell you that Hyomi. What I can tell you is that we must live our lives to the fullest. I can promise you that we will be together for all eternity."

"Hm, is that a proposal?" she asked jokingly.

"If you want it to be." Yeili replied. She smiled and returned her gaze to the kingdom.

A single white feather flew with the wind in the red colored sky and disappeared in the clouds. A soft whisper came from Hyomi's lips. "I love you too, Yeili."
