For all I know, there's nothing I can see
The scream deep inside
Reflecting what has yet to be
Crying out for help
To the shadowed halls of dreams
Remembering what has not been
For nothing's what it seems.

Tracing thin illusions
On the walls where shadows fall
Something dark and moving
Like twisting wraiths
Or dragons, seeming
Rending, tearing flesh and bleeding
With its razor talons gleaming.

Darkness falling
Night is coming
Dreams are riding
Something's coming
Trying, trying,
Cannot see
The light is fleeing
Night's dark lances
Driving it away.

Marching soldiers
Something or other
Not too sure
Something's coming
Dragons rending
Talons gleaming
Blood flowing down
Into the dark.

Knights in shining armor riding
Seeking lost hearts
Treasure to be found
Princesses weeping for a rescue
Yet nothing to leap out
Nothing to fight
Dreams steal upon the land
Riding waves of darkness

All lives trapped
In the castle of dreams.
