It is the middle of the night and Mr. Hiroshima is still wide-awake in his basement laboratory. His twin daughters now at the age of three were quietly sleeping in their bedrooms and his wife had no idea he had left the bed. Mr. Hiroshima was a scientist who works for a secret incorporation that does horrible and unspeakable things and Mr. Hiroshima is one of their top scientists. Many people considered him a genius and others called him crazy. His wife Natalie doesn't even remember why she even married him. All that he does is stay in his basement laboratory and comes up only to spend time with his daughters or go to bed. What everyone didn't know was that Mr. Hiroshima was planning something so dangerous that it would cost him his life the next day.

When his daughters, Alexia and Elizabeth, came home from preschool and their mother was still at work, Mr. Hiroshima brought his three-year old daughters down to his lab. Since they were so young they didn't ask any questions. Then he had both of them lie down on two steal counters. He began to mutter to himself quietly over and over again, "This will work! This will work! I will become the richest man in the world!" A few minutes later his wife came home from work and wondered what happened to the girls. She saw the lab door open and seemed very curious about what was down there. As she got down there she saw both of her daughters strapped up to steal counters and then she saw her husband. "What are you doing? Our daughters are not lab animals! I demand that you release them immediately and stop this nonsense!" Natalie demanded. Her husband looked up at her with a horrified face, "Nonsense? You are calling my ingenious work nonsense? I am probably performing the most intelligent experiment in all history." Suddenly Mr. Hiroshima pushes his wife to the ground while telling her that she is the one blinded by nonsense.

Then Mr. Hiroshima began to pull levers, push buttons, and connect wires. Natalie asked her husband in confusion, "What are you going to do to Lizzy and Alex? You're not going to kill them are you?" "Of coarse not! I'm just going to make them even better. They will have the knowledge of a fifty- year old, but still be only at the age of three. If I succeed, we won't have to pay for their school tuition anymore. They'll become even smarter than the wisest ninety-year old." Mr. Hiroshima answered. He then pulled down a huge lever and blue sparks began to go through a huge machine and then the sparks traveled through the wires that were attached to Lizzy and Alex. When the blue sparks reached Lizzy and Alex, nothing happened to them. They just lay there like they weren't even affected by them. After a while, Mr. Hiroshima switched the lever back and turned off the machine. Then he took the straps off of the girls and let them sit up and walk around. He grabbed a book from the top shelf of a bookcase and opened it up to a marked page. He carried it over to Alex and asked her if she could read this. Alex just gave a blank look and stared at her father. It was obvious that Alex could not read it.

Suddenly turned her body and faced her father. Then Alexia pointed her index finger at her father and touched him on his forehead. From the spot where she had touched him, Mr. Hiroshima began to freeze and it spread like a wild fire until his whole body was frozen solid. Then Elizabeth walked over to her frozen father and tapped it with her index finger and immediately, her father broke into hundreds of ice crystals. Their mother screamed her husband's name and ran over to where he once stood. Alexia and Elizabeth then turned toward Natalie, but instead of killing her like what they did to her father they just smiled. At that moment they looked just like harmless normal little kids. Natalie decided to keep her daughters even though that they weren't normal anymore. She knew that if she left them out in the real world, they'd become real lab animals or even be killed. As they grew up, Natalie taught them to control their power and keep their power a secret. The girls never really found out about what happened to their father because their mother didn't have the heart to tell them. Several years passed by and Alexia and Elizabeth seemed just like any normal seventeen year old that you would find in Kyoto, Japan. Everything seemed normal and Alexia and Elizabeth lived happily with their mother, but how long will this peace last?
