To Love
I found that nothing is what it was,
And you had not fallen from above.
That I was no more then some nobody
You happened to be thinking of.
You cherished me once long ago,
But when I became a bore to you,
Soon that cherishment turned twisted.
No one else knew.
The nights you hit me
The nights I cried
The nights you didn’t come home
And the night I died.
So here I sit,
Broken and mangled upon the floor
While you grab you leather jacket
And walk out the door.
I know you won’t be coming back again
Or at least no time soon.
I know things won’t be as they use to be,
Like I’m some psychic bending a spoon.
So I’ll weep out my tears,
And wish you a tender goodbye
For when the Angels descended,
I asked if I could fly.
They told me yes,
That it could be.
So I found that steel kitchen knife
And then truly did see.
I saw your face
Peaceful and True.
I saw the one I loved
I saw you.
And then I let that blade fall down
Let it slash in my chest.
The Angels lifted me from this earth
Into my eternal rest.
And you know what
Guess what I saw.
I saw that photo
We had framed on the wall.
The one of you and me
Smiling all the time.
And I wanted you to know
That I was doing fine.
I love you
No matter what went on
I wanted to tell you
So I’ll tell you in song.
Even after all the hurt
After all the pain.
I know that it was more
Than a simple game.
You loved me too
Am I right?
So I’ll help you
Achieve an Angel’s flight.
I see you sleeping
And I grab a knife
I let fall,
And end your life.
