A Rare Moment

A blanket of mist hovers over the trees;
The cool, crisp air nips at my face;
Tall mountains rise majestic and strong,
And the trees whisper in a faint breeze.

Long shadows dance within the town;
Green ivy reaches up the walls;
Families sit in their fire's warmth,
And the smoke's aroma tickles my nose.

The sky fades from pink to red;
The day retreats in an orange blaze;
Night's rest chases away day's toil
As a few stars show their steady lights.
