This is just a little poem that I wrote & submitted to Poetry.com. It was a
finalist entry. But they wanted me to do all sorts of stuff with it, and I
was just like, "NO". I do NOT recommend submitting your work to
Poetry.com. You get all sorts of ridiculous things in the mail, and it's
VERY, VERY confusing.
Anyways, enjoy! Please review!

An elegant dragon sits in her cave on this day
The beautiful colors of her scales locked away-- locked away in the
darkness that she calls home
What did I do to see this sight?
A beautiful dragon of power and might
I wrote this poem, a story maybe
The story of how I climbed a many cliffs, and sailed a many seas, and not
once have I seen such colors as these
The exquisite gold in her mysterious eyes
Her scales were the size of diamonds, I tell you no lies
She was a graceful ruby, purple, blue, and green and all the colors in
between
They blended together in an elegant way, more beautiful than the sun
setting on the bay
Her moves held the wisdom of thousands of years, showing no flaws, and
absolutely no fears
Then, without warning, she spread out her wings; the leather glistened like
sapphire rings
And with a huff and a breath, she flapped her enormous wings, and was gone,
captured in a picturesque view
The moon held her grace, And was whiter than lace
One thought ran through my mind:
My journey was over All had said I traveled forever, for nothing
But I will always remember the beautiful scales, sealed away in the
darkness she called home
Her large rock dome
A beautiful memory, a vivid dream
