Missing you

Missing you, my friend

Like the deserts miss the rain,

Like the plants miss the sun.

Empty as the night is

without its the bright stars.

A toy strewn around carelessly,

Without its young owner and friend.

An empty sheet,

Aching for a story.

Such is my tale.

Here I stand,

Waiting for you to return,

Knowing that I should be thankful,

For our unexpected meeting,

As we rushed through life,

Always busy, always late.

Yet fate intertwined our paths,

And our friendship blossomed.

Yesterday I thought I needed no one

Secretly I rebelled against all.

Today, I have come to know,

That I need you so.

And that you shall always be

by my side

And I by yours.

For a best friend you are,

And a best friend I will be

Though I may doubt myself,

I do not doubt the fact,

That when all others turn away,

You’ll still be facing me.

Such is our never ending

Tale.
