I Wish I Had An Artists Heart

I wish I had a composers ear

To speak a thousand thoughts

And see the audience in tears

When they hear heart felt chords

I wish I had a painters hands

Wash away dull walls

Show all aspects of man

In pictures of mariners calls

I wish I had the comedians gift

To make the sad happy for a while

To catch downed souls, to lift

Their hearts and make them smile

I wish I had the silver tongue

Of a speaker, TV presenter

Or Parliament member

Yelling ideas. Dreams just begun

I wish I had all these things

Perhaps then you would know what I mean

I wish I had the craft to show

All humans tears and woe

Still have power to make you grin

I wish I had all these things

To make my mark on this world

To give what I have, share what I held

And let people read,

That there's more to me
