You came out of nowhere, I thought you'd just be a friend, But what went on I wanted more, And you still lived in the past times.

I'm your friend-I'm so very lucky, But my heart is wrenched at everytime, That you look at another guy in that way, And then I'd wish that that were me instead.

You're looking so beautiful, all dressed up, On this special night for all of us but I see more, All the beauty you hold inside, still hiding it from me, And then you asked me to dance with you, holding my hand.

I'm nervous, I don't know quite what to say now it's different, You always pretended a little bit better than me, my eyes can't lie now, As they're lit up with happiness, foolish hope but you can see my soul there, And you still smiled and danced perfectly, leading and following at the same time.

Your steps slow now, the dance is ending yet we still move in time, in time as always, Now on this night, when all can be changed you smile up at me in a different way, All the hopes and pains I suffered have disappeared now as I look at you, And finally I see your soul, you bare it for me and would you say the words?

You sigh lightly, and lean your head on my shoulder- I'm caught off guard, For the first time I feel I'm finally getting somewhere, with you now, All the times I've wished I could tell you are amounting perfusely, And then you pull away, too fast, you still think as a friend.

I'm sad you've ripped my heart to shreds yet again now, You are always on my mind, now I feel melancholic, As I realise it was never meant to be for you to see, And my heart is yours it always was but I see.

You're my last thought before sleeping and, My first when I wake, you're always there, All that's been I don't understand why, You've never seen I'm always here.
