Tears, of bitter remorse and sorrow
Knowing that his beloved wouldn't be meeting him, tomorrow
Pearls, salty in taste
Seeming to chide him in his haste
He pushed her away, when he was mad
And now, he couldn't stop his sad, sad
Tears of pain and regret
Making the cloth of his lover's blouse wet
The day before, he'd told her to go and play, see if she could get him a dime
A sad smile was her only response, as she turned away, bidding him good night for the last time
Now, he held her broken form in his arms
Oblivious to the shouts and alarms
Bitter regret, bitter pain
How he wished to see her talking, again
To hear her laugh, to see her smile
To feel the skin of her face, to touch her hair, all the while
An angry snarl above him, and he looks up,
Seeing a wolf, growling at him as if he were a pup
Tears of anger, sorrow, remorse
Fill his eyes as he decides his course
"Kill me now, you disgusting beast.
So I can join my beloved, in the land to the east"
Standing up, he faces the creature,
Making to sure to memorize his love's features
Raising a knife, he charges forward
Towards the thing that caused such grief and horror
His tears have stopped, no longer flowing
For in his heart, anger and hate are growing
Stabbing the monster, deep as he can
Doing his job, as a lover, and a man
However, it is a mistake, for the beast slashes him
And then he knows, he couldn't win
Collapsing to his knees, bleeding freely, stroking his love’s face
"I join you now...sweet...Beatrice...."
