Motivators all over the world use the same two animals as reference, eagles and chickens. They tell us to avoid settling down and become satisfied with staying at one place like chickens do, that we should mimic the eagles and try to reach higher and higher, beyond the apex of our potential.

But, what are eagles good for? They’re up in the mountains, far away from us, where they provide no service. The closer they ever get to people is in the form of hollow emblems used by kings and politicians.

And the chickens, how useful they are! The give their feathers to fill pillows up, broth to heal the ill, their meat and eggs satisfy our hunger.

Let’s be thankful for chickens, for being so servile and humble. Let motivators give thanks to the eagles.
