Chapter 1 - Signing Up

"...and Enter!" I said as I pushed the Enter key on my keyboard to sign up for the Dream Street Concert at your school contest thing. I didn't like Dream Street very much but I thought, 'Maybe I can just give it a shot.' Well, I'm not that popular at school so I thought that maybe if I win this thing, I'd get just a bit more popular! My friend on the other hand LOVES Dream Street, but doesn't know about the contest. I never got around to saying it and well, I don't think I will. She's been popular ever since she became part of the school ASB. I never get to hang out with her anymore but she does say hi to me in the halls. Usually we're talking about everything but now everything changed.
Anyways, I finished that up and I checked the time. 3:30 PM. I thought to myself, iMaybe I should finish my little bit of homework really quick and then go feed Lollipop, my dog./i
Well, I'm Suzie Purin, I am 12 (yes, 12) years old, I am in 7th grade (duh), and I go to a junior high. Basically, I'm an only child except with my dog Lollipop. She's a two-week-old golden retreiver. Awfully cute! My parents work during the day so I get the house to myself after school. They get back at 7.
Anyways, I finished all my homework, went downstairs, fed Lollipop, and then called my friend Carly and asked what she was doing. She's the one that loves Dream Street.
"Hey, Car," I said into the phone.
"Hi, who's this?" she asked.
"You don't know?" I said sadly.
"Uhh no..."
"It's Suzie," I sighed.
"Oh. You. Hi."
"For the second time, HI. I was just wondering what you're doing."
"Oh, I finished my homework. I was just about to call Alison to see if her and I could hang out later."
"Oh."
I heard Carly sigh, then she said, "Well, I guess you can come if you want. Come over to my house in 5 minutes."
I replied, "Okay, see ya then."
"Yeah, bye."
"Bye."
We hung up. To clue you in, Alison is the MOST popular one in our school. She thinks she's hot stuff. I think she's just plain stupid. She thinks she is so cool and that we should PRAISE her. I think not.

When I arrived at Carly's house, I rang the doorbell. She was wearing what she wore every Friday (which is where popular kids wear cool clothes) and she looked at me.
"Hey, Car," I said to her.
"Um, don't call me Car. I am NOT a car. My name is Carly. Alison will be here in a second. Go wait," she snapped at me.
I glared at her and said, "Fine."
"You don't have to come. We're going shopping and you'll just be bored. Why don't you hang out with those other friends of yours?"
"You're my only so-called friend anyway. I only TALK to the other people."
"Whatever." Just as she said this, the doorbell rang. Obviously, Alison had arrived. I overheard their conversation.
"Oh my god, hey Alison!!" Carly exclaimed.
"Hey, girl! How are yah?" Alison replied.
"Great! You ready?"
"Sure!"
"Um, wait. My uhh friend Suzie is coming too."
"WHAT?"
"Yeah, I invited her. She's still a friend, you know."
Alison mumbled, "Some friend." and then said, "Okay, great. Where is she?"
"Living room. SUZIE!! ALISON'S HERE!!" she yelled.
"Okay," I called back.
Then, we were on our way.
