  No Longer An Account I usually hate Conservatives (even more than I hate Liberals and almost as much as I hate Moderates) and I'm not too fond of Ted Nugent's views on things like illegal immigration (when mein Grossvater came over from Germany just before World War One, nobody gave him a hard time), but when it comes to gun control I definately agree with the guy. 8/04/2007 #1 |
 MrFlames The "numbnuts" that are telling you when how and if you can defend yourself exceeds far beyond the "gaggle" of B., C., and F., that list of "numbnuts" would actually include all of humanity. Do you have a right to own a nuke? Does your 2 year old kid have the right to own a nuke? If he doesn't have to tell people he has the right to defend himself because the rights are ostensibly obvious, why is he doing just that? Why does he have to communicate his "right" to defend himself? If the right really is a right, then where is his super ninja deathclaw attack that is his "right"? After all, doesn't he have the "right" to defend himself? |

Besides the fact that half the people in rural America own fully-operational assault rifles (I know some of these people) and I know a guy who might be able to get me an RPG-7 if I had the money . . . If the right really is a right, then where is his super ninja deathclaw attack that is his "right"? After all, doesn't he have the "right" to defend himself? He is not an expert in any form of martial arts. He is a guitar player. Ergo, he uses a firearm. If he doesn't have to tell people he has the right to defend himself because the rights are ostensibly obvious, why is he doing just that? At the risk of you not detecting my sarcasm, because not everybody is as smart as Ted Nugent. I didn't say that Ted Nugent was God and we should follow his commands to the letter, I said that I agreed with Ted Nugent on the issue of guns and self defense. |

Also, when people can defend themselves from mundane criminals, it gives the state less of an excuse to grasp for more police powers. |
