Hi, I'm predominately a lurker. Anyway...

Favorite Gods: Hephaestus and Aphrodite. Mainly Hephaestus, since he seems the most human of the gods, which makes for a more interesting story. ^^ Hermes is also interesting, and there are probably others I can't think of right now.

Favorite Myths: Eros and Psyche, Hades and Persephone, Galatea and Pygmalion, Echo

Favorite Mortals: Galatea and Pygmalion. (Look! A Greek myth that actually has a happy ending!)

Who are your favorite gods? Artemis and maybe Morpheus... Athene?

Which are your favorite myths? I love the Trojan War legend (myth or not?), as well as the story of Persephone and Hades, Orpheus and Eurydice, Athene and and Arachne (weaving contest), Pandora's Box, and probably more that I can't remember.

Who are your favorite characters that aren't gods? Kassandra of Troy, the Amazons, Orpheus...

I have way too many favorites to list here, spanning from Athena, Aphrodite, Artemis, and Apollo all the way to Hades, Hecate, Poseidon, and Zeus. I have always loved mythology, though I can't limit mine to just Greek and Roman. I have dedicated the past few months researching a story about mythology. I posted it up on fictionpress as my NaNoWriMo and everyone loves it, believing it to be one of my best stories. If anyone would like to read it, I would love the input of people who know mythology more than the average everyday person. It is called The Real Fantasy and it is under my other pen name Danielle Thamasa.

Heh, I'm a Classical Myth buff, so I'd like to partake in this for a bit.

Who are your favorite gods?

I guess Apollo would be at the top- the god of light and music, as well as the sun and being a patron of the arts, theatre, music while setting a prime example of perfect masculine, virile beauty. Sounds like a gay friend of mine. O.o; Ranking in at second would be Hermes, as I'm ruled astrologically under more mercurial signs than any other (soi-disant intellectual, chatty when I feel in the mood too, opting for creativity...). Hades would come at third, as he's an intriguing mythological figure- what, with the obscurity, mystery, and dark appeal. Hmm...

Which are your favorite myths?

The story of Persephone and Hades is the one that captured me most. In fact, I recommend this retelling by Night Music- she's put in a new twist on the myth and made it all her own: http://www.fictionpress.com/s/1018361/1/

Who are your favorite characters that aren't gods?

Hmm, tough one. That would have to be Orion, although I rarely hear anything about him. Then again, maybe I'm not looking hard enough.

There you go. My two cents.

--Who are your favorite gods?--

Hera is easily my favorite goddess. Dionysus, my favorite god. I have a soft spot somewhere for all of them, though.

--Which are your favorite myths?--

Orpheus and Eurydice. The whole thing just reminds me of the old cliche "You can't go home again" which is totally true.

--Who are your favorite characters that aren't gods?--

Medea. Orpheus. Eurydice. Medusa. And for nostalgia's sake Perseus is my favorite hero. (I got into Greek mythology when I was seven and saw "Clash of the Titans" for the first time).

Who are your favorite gods?

They're all cool in their own way. Eros and Athena.

Which are your favorite myths?

I barely remember the myths I read. The one about Echo and Narcissus, along with the Eros / Psyche myth. The Odyssey is good also.

Who are your favorite characters that aren't gods?

Odysseus. After having the read The Odyssey in class for half a year, I became attached to him. I also like Psyche and Antigone. Antigone is bad **.

:hits self: I just HAD to notice this...

Favorite God/Goddess: I am incredibly partial to Hestia. She's the least known goddess, and sometimes the least known characters are the best.

Favorite Myths: The Iliad and The Odyssey, mostly. Although, I love any myth that has Dionysus in it.

Favorite Character that isn't a god: Do demi-gods count? If yes, Theseus. If no, then... ummm... I'd have to say... Agamemnon or Odysseus.

But the characters that I really love are the Muses. REPRESENT.

CURSE MY GREEK MYTHOLOGY OBSESSION DDD:!!!

Favorite gods: I absolutely adore Prometheus

Favorite Gods: Persephone. I like the duality of being daughter of the Harvest Goddess (happy daylight) and Queen of the Underword (depressing night). Also demi-godesses, like Echo, Nemesis, etc. Hermes has also seemed very attractive to me for some reason....

Favorite myths: Got to love Pygmalion sculpting Galatea. its like grecian chick lit.

Favorite non-gods- woot woot medea. i love femme fatales.... besides her, i have always sympathized with Helen of Troy. she was always oppressed and put down by the patriarchal society. yeah, i'm a bit of a feminist....

For favourite gods I have to go for Apollo, Hades, Artemis, Eris and Persephone.

Favourite myths: All of the ones that don't feature Hercules or Odysseus or any of those "hero" types.

Favourite non-God characters: Clotho, Lachesis and Atropos (better known together as the Fates) and Cassandra.

A list?... There are waaaay too many gods and goddesses to compile a list in this one post. But which gods do you want? The Olympians (the main 13 ones)? The Muses? Demi-gods?

P.S. It's spelled "Hecate"

Favorite Gods? Hmmm. I always fall for those halfway forgotten gods and goddesses like Nyx and Aether, but also the Moirae, Morpheus, Dionysus, Hermes, Eris, and Nike. Zeus bugs me a lot.

My favorite myths are definitely the creation myths, Scylla and Glaucus, and Pandora's box. There are more minor ones too that I can't recall at present.

As for the mere mortals most of my favorites end up getting deified, but the ones that don't are Chiron, Meada, and Cassandra.

Hmm...

My favorite gods, well, I don't have a lot of favorites. I think Artemis is my main favorite. I also like Dionysus; the circumstances of his birth never cease to amaze me!

My favorite myths: ANYTHING AT ALL that has to do with Cassandra. The Trojan War is my strong point, as are the people and events surrounding it. Except for Helen. She makes me want to gag. History's biggest Mary-Sue. Well, except for Joan of Arc, maybe...

Now I feel sacreligious.

ANYWAY, the mere mortals? Cassandra. 'Nuff said.

Who are your favorite gods?-----Artemis-strong yet feminine

Which are your favorite myths?-----Like most of then, don't really have a favourite-maybe when Icarius (i hope i spelt his name right!) flew too close to the sun and drowned, but that's just my warped view of things, he deserved what he got. Pandora's Box is also cool.

Who are your favorite characters that aren't gods? Cassandra

My faves: Hades (cause he's one of the few non-raping gods as well as the only one who's willing to do his job right), Persephone, Hestia (only non violent and bitchy virgin goddess) and Prometheus (self-sacrificing heroes ya can't hate em right?)

I personnally pity Hera, cause she's doomed to be married to the one who raped her and who abandones her at every turn of the way, Hepheastus cause he's ugly and he really isn't so bad.

My faves myths: the one where Hades marries Persephone (hey in the original there was no raping), Prometheus (cause he stood up to that bastard zeus) and finally Heracles ( except for his mother getting tricked by zeus and Heracles killing his own kids)

this is slightly off topic but does anyone no any characteristics of Athena?

Yep, according to quite a few myths she's a ** who's spoiled, hates to lose and thinks she's better than others (why I say this? look at the myth of the Trojan war and at that old spider myth, along with the myth of the gorgon and you'll see my point)
