NAME: Veng, Vengeance, Koral(his true name) AGE: 40 (at the end) RACE: Walfre-Raptereon-Trexen. ^_^ LOOKS: Lizardish in appareance (think anthro but meaner ^_^). Bright amber eyes, saber fangs that show when he smiles, dusty-brown leathery skin, 7 foot tall, three-digit fingers with massive claws, two-toed clawed feet, completely hairless (well, except for eyelashes ^_~), well muscled (can easily lift most people), thick but flexible tail with the last foot missing. Sometimes has black bat-like wings. WEAPONS: Um ... claws? ALIGMENT: More good than bad, by no means innocent. Has been a rapist(when possessed), murderer & theif. LIKES: His family, being out the desert and not much else. DISLIKES: The most: Betrayers, Gods, Desert. HISTORY: Um, my story is his history. He's a tri-bred, who thinks he's a hybrid and nothing special. He's actually an heir that has been crafted by humans for a royal family, so said humans can get the materials they need to get the hell off the planet. But one decides that now they have the material, they don't need to agree to anything and thinks of bumping off the 'monster'. Koral hears the discussion and flees into the surrounding desert. Meets the local nomads who take him in and subsequently sacrifice him to their lust-driven, blood-thirsty god. Said god possesses him and forces him to kill and rape. Wanting to escape, he trades his shadow to the devil for wings, but fails to do so. After a few years he comes across a woman who, unknown to him, is a priestess of said bad god, she drugs him and convinces him that he should be the leader of this band of murders, rapists and thieves known as Rogues. Koral has become quite strong and easily becomes their leader and the Rogue King. Koral, who now goes by the name of Vengeance (or Veng for short), flies over the old human place. Searching the ruins, he finds it abandoned except for a small girl. She tells him the humans were killed by monsters similar in looks to him. He takes the girl home, calls her Lasil and teaches her the native language. I’m not getting into too much detail here. Basically: she falls for him, he eventually falls for her. You want to know more ... you read the story bub. I've dropped enough tid-bits. ^_^

Like I said: he's more good than bad. Life has hardened him to the darker sides, but underneath it all he has a caring nature. He saves not only this one girl, but another that was previously left to die after her father's trading caravan suffered a raid (her father died in said raid). Again: he falls in love with her (after she left for a few years and returned a woman). They end up having a son and that kinda snowballs the rest of the story. She's whisked away by the god who dislikes the relationship his prized Rogue has with the woman and would rather have Veng in perpetual anguish than happy. He's made to believe she left him of her own accord, but when finding out the truth, he risks his own life (living in the desert, he's automatically an outlaw and trying to enter any kingdom means death) to free her from the maniac god, going so far as entering hell and, later, challenging the god.

My little planet (and it's four moons, one of which is a kingdom in itself) has two continents. But the story deals with only one and the moon kingdom (not forgetting hell). The continent sits on the equator where the desert bisects it and the two kingdoms. Technically, the kingdoms are one as the only surviving members of both royal families have married. In order to keep the Rogues in, the desert was walled off somewhere between now and the forming of the kingdoms from an empire that spread across the entire planet (and were once ruled by Veng's ancestors until they were overthrown). Geography aside: The two kingdoms are full of creatures similar to my mains (lizards, feline, canine, equine, snakes, birds). The moon kingdom has only trexens (they fled to the moon in order to escape punishment). Technology is medieval-like, although one speices has three ancient magically-crafted planes/rockets. Magic is common the commonest being a limited instinctual shifting type. The rest comes from the gods and most of it is unobtaniable to hybrids because of mixed blood. The exception being shadow magic but even that is rare due to the father needing to offer up his soul to the darker deities, and only his son reaps the 'benefits'. Urgh, my brain is going to either explode or freeze trying to get everything down here. Perhaps you could be a little clearer in your question. Or have I answered it?

How large the planet, compared to Earth or the Moon?
Easy answer: The planet is roughly twice the size of earth (the largest continent is about the size of asia, europe and africa; the other being the size of australia and a lot of water separates the two). More: The days are two hours longer than ours due to a double-sun solar system (yellow and red). It takes twice as long to orbit the suns, so that's two earth-years for their one. There are tweleve months, with roughly sixty-one days in each (with three months having one day less). Weeks are eight days long. Minutes and seconds have an extra ten of each. :D I have a complete book full of stuff like this, only thing lacking is a complete dictionary.

My next Q: what are each of these races that you’ve mentioned? Walfre, Raptereon, Trexen. Wolf, Rapter and T-Rex like creatures?
Walfre: They're a sort of lizardish camel the size of an rhino with sabre tusks for digging (and masking Vengeance's trexen side, making him think he's a hybrid). Farmed for milk, meat and pelts; also used as pack beasts in the desert. Just an animal really. I have a sort of cow called a Wikia that's used for the same thing elsewhere. Raptereon: They're actually just any kind of lizard, from gecko to iguana to dragon (yes, some can breathe fire and fly, but it's a rare trait). Hell, I even have a few blue-tongue lizards. I just liked the sound better than trying to make something with lizard. Trexens (in their tongue it means giant): I pretty much described a trexen with Vengeance. Except he's the only one with amber eyes (the rest are all some shade of yellow) and wings. It try to keep the names close to the species I modeled them on so people can get the hint even if I don't give a detailed description. Wolena: Canines. Mostly wolves, but I do have a jack russell secondary character. Katess: Feline. Two of my secondary characters are based off a Leopard/Cheetah and a Cougar. Equinea: Horses (my own centaurs to be precise), fantasy-based or otherwise. Bir-Dra: birds (think angels when it comes to position of wings and arms). Sssstamne: Snakes. Although, I do have the odd species that's not so mundane in the name department. Here are the common two: Contanihians: kinda like the Bir-Dra but only red with wings and arms combined. Are blindly loyal to the trexen royality as well as having the only advanced technology. Prewania-Tofua: a giant (segments roughly the size of an elephant) shape-shifting insect that can tunnel through solid rock and feed on lightening. They're dying out by the time my story starts and only one full-blood exists in the end of my sequel.

The phrase animal is used for anything that can't actually talk or doesn't appear to have much intelligence (kinda like how we view cows, horses, etc). The line can be hazy at times as some species, mainly 'monsters', that may seem unintelligent can actually talk (although with many 'monsters', the people need a certain internal magic to understand them). I guess there isn't a dominant species. There used to be but that was more a technological thing. I kinda view it as more (using humans as an example) different races living in the same spot. You get the occassional insult and stuff as well as some preferring to keep blood pure (Most species can breed with another and those that can't generally live seperate to the rest), but on the whole they just co-exist ... except for trexens (they're snooty buggers and think they're superior). And the Walfre bi-annual season thing. Yup, it's a breeding period. It's not a big factor and only mentioned once, more to anger Veng than anything.

I guess I’m having a bit of a time grasping this aspect—Vengeance is part Walfre, an “animal” which means that at some point one of his ancestors bred with a pack animal??
The humans are responsible for placing walfre in his blood (in order to keep his dna stable) they also brought some raptereon traits to the forefront. His mother is pure trexen; his father's trexen with traces of raptereon (gotten from before the trexens fled).
Now, see I’ll stop asking questions.

As for his parents: by the time he discovers who and what he is, his father's dead. His mother's only still living because of the hope that her son might still be alive. Unknown of who she is, she's seen visting the humans in chapter four when he's twenty-four/five and learns what happened to her promised son. In the sequel I'm planning, he ends up meeting the long-dead ancestor he's named after, as well as several others from his bloodline.

DreamWeaver: Thank you also, but I did say what colour he was ... *points up* 'dusty-brown leathery skin'. All the better to hide in the desert, my dear. ^_^
